Ranked is awful experience

Just played three ranked games and all three of them had some form of teammate who ruined our chances at winning. Whether it was a fizz who flamed all game and blamed our bot lane, or an ashe who fed because it was funny to them then stood idly at fountain. This is making me not want to do ranked anymore and it seems like this is true to many as the queue timers are quite long. This is by no means a fully complete idea by me or a demand for Riot but I feel like these actions should be punished especially in ranked. It makes it impossible for many players to get out of low tiers like bronze and silver, the latter of which I'm in, and generally ruins the overall goal of the game, to become highly ranked.

It's something you just have to over come. What separates the good players from the bad is that good players don't take it to heart. They keep calm and when the games over they move on and give it their all next game. The weaker players will get worked up over the troll and let themselves get tilted. Just work through it, keep focused, and keep calm. You will climb through it.

Ranked is a massively unpleasant experience. I remember playing Thresh support to this Ezreal. Who threatened to report me if I so much as got within spitting distance of a minion. And God forbid I actually hit one. Spoiler: We lost, cause he eventually abandoned me.

I don't play ranked anymore.

Which is the big reason I don't see myself ever playing ranked. What's the point of 'climbing the ladder' if you're not going to enjoy that much of it? Especially if the reward is a little border around my champion in the loading screen to pat my own ego.

Agree with OP, it's a nightmare.

I made the mistake of doing my placement matches solo as a support main, and after going 4-7 I got tossed into Bronze. I managed to climb to Silver 1 placements twice in ~ 120 games but Silver 2 & 3 was unbearable with trolls, afk's, intentional griefers and matchmaking putting me against Gold 3's bc a Silver 5 duo happened to be on my team.

Opting to wait until Season 6 so I can roll in with 4 friends instead of rolling the dice with the system.

incorrect. If you are good enough, you will climb. What riot has done is shorten the game and increase player abilities to snowball the game. That means, the game will rely more on individual skills rather then who can win a team fight (as team fighting was the most important phase in season 5). Lane phase is much more important now in season 6, along with faster rotations as the towers have been nerfed. Moreover, with death timers extended in the early game, you have so much more time to do stuff. Roam, farm, objectives, etc. Riot is helping the community and everyone who is in bronze and silver to climb. Hell, they gave you a free win If you loose your series. What else can you ask for? If you want to climb, win your lane, roam, get objectives and snow ball the game.

Welcome to life. Sorry it's filled with complainers and losers. :/

Really though, you have to recognize that such a large community is bound to have some bad eggs, bound to have that one player who has a bad game with a bad attitude in YOUR game. It's called life. Overcome it by finding new avenues...heck, prevent some of it with your gameplay.

One of my favorite things to do with Thresh Thresh was to waltz to mid lane around 12min or so (notice this is after dragon was taken, so the jungler is back at base) and send a Death Sentence into the opponent's mid laner who thought he could snipe our mid laner. :)

Make the game fun, find creative ways of preventing stuff like that, and realize its a 5-man game. That means there are three other players who want to have fun, too. Make it fun for them. :D [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

This seems to be much more common in pre-season when people don't care as much in Ranked. Keep reporting them and they will get banned. Its a pain in the ass but you can climb in Ranked even if you get trolls (though they make the climb much slower and more painful.) You can't control your teammates so try to focus on what you can do to improve and if you work hard enough at it you'll see success. I was in the same spot you were so I focused on my mechanics for 6 months and then in the last two months of the season I had a 70% win rate (when previously my win rate was around 40%.)

I know how you feel. I've yet to finish my placement games and I already feel like ranked is a far worse playing experience than the whole experience of leveling from one to thirty was just from the way those in ranked games have treated me. Even the one game where we won I was constantly told how bad I was even though I was right there helping during the team fights.
