If Riot has no tolerance for hate speech, why let people say it?

Legit.

If Riot doesn't want people to say "Ks" or "Fg" then why let people hit enter? It's facilitation of hate speech? We know Riot doesn't like it, but why not take action against the root of it. It'll fix the banning epidemic, it'll restrict toxicity, its a win win. I know I would've loved to have that in place before I had a mislapse in judgement 4 months ago, and many others would too.

IDK, even as a toggleable feature, it would help.

Thoughts?

It's a lot easier to punish someone for their poor attitude when you let them openly express their poor attitude in game. If you try to block them from doing so, they will find a way around the block, making it harder to detect.

You can have a language filter tho. does it not toggle everything you're talking about?

At first glance it seems like a good idea, but people will always find a way to convey their horrible thoughts of hatred. They'll replace something with a number, put periods in to break it up, spell out one letter at a time, etc...
