To everyone who has ever said that..you are wrong. It does matter, it effects my elo, and my W/L. Not only that you are wasting my time in yours.
Anyone else tired of hearing that? I end up just reporting the people for assisting enemy team.
Why report them for assisting the enemy team when it's unsportsmanlike conduct? Also the people who say that are aware of the fact that ranked and normal track MMR and W/L separately, and consider normal stats to be inconsequential because they bear no weight as far as your ranking or rewards go.

Unranked matches are for trying out garbage builds, or playing after a few drinks, etc.
I typically just report everyone on both my team and the enemy team. Let Riot sort it out.
It drives me crazy when people use "it's only normals" as an excuse to ruin games, though that isn't always the reasoning behind that thought process. It's very possible that a player might be testing something new in normal games and is being harassed, so that player defaults to a sort of "calm down" response.
Just a theory of mine, I suppose, but I'd say that indiscriminately reporting people for saying it might not necessarily be the most conducive approach.
Yeah, it does suck when people use it as an excuse to troll or whatever. But you should try to relax a bit during normals. I don't know about you, but I do much better in a game when I'm relaxed and having fun.

We respect your value, and likewise we expect you to respect others' values. What may seem insignificant for most isn't the case for some, hence the significance of game mode has no say in most cases.
