The Instant Feedback System works within 15 minutes. It usually takes a lot more than one game to get punished though. If you are worried about being banned for the pillar thing, I wouldn't be unless you do this kind of thing frequently. Cases that have to be manually reviewed will take longer.

The Instant Feedback System makes response times very very fast once someone has been consistently negative across multiple games. It doesn't happen the first time someone gets reported, though; it's more like the phrase "the straw that broke the camel's back". Once someone passes some sort of tolerance threshold, they get punished fairly quickly.

The current punishment system has 4 tiers.

  • 10-game Chat Restriction
  • 25-game Chat Restriction
  • 14-day suspension
  • Permanent suspension

Each time you're punished you move up to the next tier, unless your behavior is atrocious enough to merit skipping straight to the 2-week or permanent ban. Hate speech and racial slurs are the most common reasons for a punishment to be escalated through multiple tiers. Deliberately ruining games through gameplay means is also enough to skip tiers, but this usually takes longer to detect. In any case, one single game is rarely enough to cause a punishment.

So if you're waiting for someone you reported to get punished, don't worry about it. If they keep doing what they're doing, they will continue getting reported until it's enough to trigger a punishment. You've done your part, let the system handle the rest.

If, on the other hand, you're worried that there's a punishment headed your way, there's little point worrying about what you've already done. Concentrate on improving your behavior so it won't be an issue again.
