Honor system? feels more like the Shut up and play system...

So i have played league for over 8 years and never got banned for anything (until recently) and after playing the last year with this honor system i can honestly say that its not really an honor system, being honorable is defined as bringing or worthy of honor, someone held in high esteem, etc. but from what i can understand none of that is what this system rewards, what this system rewards is people that dont talk in chat and play well. for example all of my friends that are honor level 5 honestly dont say anything in chat and while it sounds bad skill wise they are worse than i am (not that they suck or are bad but they usually agree with that statement) the only difference is they generally talk less in chat. this is not to say they dont talk at all they do say things on occasion and some of it is negative while some of it is positive. i on the other hand am a pretty straight shooter if someone is building stupidly i say something, if someone is doing well i tell them they are a god, if someone is sucking i tell them they are bad and to play passive, if someone is flaming i flame them back. while these are not honorable things they are how i play the game and honestly i feel like that should be considered neutral. but because of how i play and talk i receive honors and reports the problem being reports are more negative than honors are positive. I had a suspicion that this was the case so i used one of my honor 5 friends as a test dummy (sorry ryan). when the new season started i would play games with him and without telling him i would let him play like he normally did but after every game i would report him for no other reason than testing my hypothesis and not to my surprise he stayed at honor lvl 2 until i stopped 3 months later at which point he quickly rose to become honor lvl 5 in the span of 3-5 months. what it proves is just getting reported regardless of weather or not you did anything in the current system punishes you and that is without a doubt stupid. based off my honors in general i would say i get around 70/30 in terms of honor/report ratio and most the reports are for telling people they are playing badly which i agree isnt honorable but isnt in my opinion ban worthy if people have the right to play what they want and build ap ashe bot lane i SHOULD have the right to tell them that they lost us the game because they did. while it would be nice to say it in a kind way it shouldn't be my RESPONSIBILITY to do so, they started by making our teams experience worse by playing ap ashe and getting wrecked just like everyone including the ashe knew would happen and i shouldn't HAVE to be kind about telling them that. i have always thought that actions speak louder than words and while i may be a dick, being a dick doesn't compare to trolling, inting, and AFKing. but apparently riot doesn't agree.

recently i received a chat ban for essentially asking a ashe why she built the new essence reaver on ashe. i wasnt nice about it for sure, and she and her clanmate fiddle werent nice back which is both of our choices. Which i think we have the RIGHT to say, i asked why and was told to shut up because they can do what they want, and while that is the case why does that mean i dont have the right to do what i want and point out their error? if i want to question someones build why would i not have the right to do so? i understand that i dont need to be a dick about it, but do they need to be a dick about someone questioning their build? if someone says "wtf why are you cutting your sandwich with a spoon" and points out a knife is infinity better why is the toxicity one sided when you turn around and say fuck you i can cut my sandwich with a spoon if i want? WE ARE BOTH BEING DICKS! at the end of the game we both knew that the other was reporting us and i figured that was fine. what im mad about is first off i dont think being a dick should be punishable if someone is a dick be a dick back and move on but lets go with the idea that it is an offence the part that really urks me is that i was the only one punished. I would like to say that if they are going to punish me fine i will accept it i was a dick and i will readily admit to that, but i feel like the ashe was equally a dick back and should also receive the punishment. what i am making this thread for is to discuss what people think im not looking for people to change my mind but i do want to know what everyone else thinks of the situation do you guys think just being a dick is ban worthy? is it just me that thinks players should be able to talk shit in video games? am i the only one that thinks the current honor system needs work? do stick and stones break bones just as easily as words nowadays?

again i was being a dick, and hell i probably deserve a chat ban, but dropping me 7 honor stages and locking rewards plus the chat ban for that is in my opinion a bit overboard, being a dick should not result in 3 different punishments.

I'll tell you now that I'm basing this reply off of the title of the thread because WALL OF TEXT

Anyways, yeah its the shut up and play system. You start at Honor 2 and all you hav to do to maintain that is shut up and play. If you want to progress however you need to do things that make you seem more honorable like play well, be funny, be a good leader.

Riot literally said, "here's a reward for doing nothing different" and yet some players still can't handle that. They can't maintain an honor rank that they start with, that you actually need to get punished to lose.

Honestly I didn't read all that wall of text, as reading start and the end makes me feel like I already can see your misconception. Honour system rewards positive behavior NOT carrying, however pretty often players will use it for ally that did well. But what neither report, nor honour system accepts is negative behaviour NOT gameplay, that negatively impacts the game. Thus, if being a dick affects some players they will definitely not want to reward you, and for sure will report you.

Yeah the system is stupid. Why are we even supposed to actually care about it? Plus I resent the system because there are far greater problems to be addressed than a useless honor system. Seriously, no one should give a shit. Lets play the damn game. I give absolutely no fucks that you are polite.

I care far more about the fucking feeds and crazy state of the game... not to mention so many other stupid fucking issues that have resulted in me playing far far far less games lately. Just don't buy a single damn thing until they fix their shit.

There is a reason why we are a garbage region. Figure it out. Fix it. This current methodology isn't working. Obviously.
