The Riot Ban System is FLAWED, and here is why. ((Discussion on the Auto-Ban System))

Hello Summoners, I'm here to talk about the Auto-Ban system and would like to gather thoughts and opinions on it. Recently I have been filled under a ban from Riot's Auto-Ban system due to summoner misconduct involving vulgarity.

I had received a 10-Match Chat Ban, which at the moment I thought was a reasonable punishment, but soon after I truly figured out just how bad this punishment is. Communication is key in a game like League of Legends, a tactical back and forth between Red and Blue teams. If one, or multiple, of those players are silenced by Riot's chat ban function then that only spells trouble for your games. Not only for you, but for your team mates. What Riot fails to understand is that in order to effectively win teams must openly communicate with one another. This punishment is by far worse than banning a player from playing, as this actively works as a BUFF for the ENEMY TEAM. I think it is fair to say that 3 messages is not enough to communicate with your team mates, and it never will be enough. Communication is key to winning in my low Elo, but I'd like to hear from others who have experienced similar things.

Wait, so you think the punishment is bad because it's making you realize that you should use chat effectively and not to flame others?

I heavily disagree. I mean, ya of course their system is flawed. But I'm silver 2, I rarely talk in game. You don't need lines of chat to win games. You need strategy, game knowledge, and mechanical skill. Strategy is sort of a part of game knowledge and doesn't require discussion to be honest. You can ping, you can read movements, you can follow instead of lead.

Edit: can you believe there are those who argue FOR chat restricts, instead of bans? Just funny how people come to wildly different opinions.

It's a chat restriction, not a chat ban.

You can talk in those 10 games but you are restricted in the number of messages you can send.

You aren't being silenced, you just are misunderstanding what your punishment is.

You basically have to sit in games and coddle people and tell them how amazing they are even when they are 0-5 or you will get chat banned and they will int/afk, and never get punished.
