So last season I was Honors 5 - pretty easy to level up. Then the reset in January - since then I've been Honors Lv 2 "you have reached the last check point".... I've received dozens of honors since January but I'm still at the same spot... wtf? I'm lv70 too... so yes I've been playing a lot. Is this normal? I read the guide and you don't need a key or anything to unlock it... just get more honors - but how many? Hundreds?
I just recently hit the first checkpoint on Honor 3.
I believe that honor was accelerated last season because it was introduced so late. It's supposed to be a season long climb so it makes sense that it's taking longer now that we have more than like 2 months.
Yeah I believe Riot made climbing in honor rankings take significantly longer this season than last season since most of the the major kinks I assume were ironed out. I myself only made Honor 3 about a week or so ago so I honestly can't say why it takes this much longer to level up other than to possibly make it feel more earned than last season.
I am lvl 63 and am still honor 2 at checkpoint 2.
Last season I moved up quick but played with friends.
I think this push to have people play in groups is taking away from the solo ques chances at moving up. Think about it, when I or anyone plays with a friend you have to and do honor them, it is etiquette.
I think Riot needs to address these issues before they push for random things. Just like matchmaking, 5 man teams vs randoms is already becoming a problem.
You know what's gonna suck even more than the long climb to get Honor 4/5? Finally getting there and getting some stupid Honor Box that gives you a Garen Shard. [slayer-jinx-unamused]
Honor was easier to earn last season. Just takes longer. Yes it is normal.

I hate this honor system.
I got honor 3 stupid quick last season and had it stripped away for telling someone not to be a toxic choad. The 3-stack premade on my team reported me, even though they spent the entire match harassing me and telling me to "kys". The system stripped all my ranks and gave me a 10 game ban, for ONE instance of name calling. I never got back up to even honor 2 before the season ended.
I log in today to find I'm at the last check point before honor 3. All I can think about is the match last night where a 3-stack got pissed at me for split pushing and asked everyone to report me for throwing, despite the fact my laner had AFKed out at 5 minutes, i had a 40 minute game of 4v1 in bot, and they never once attempted to help me out. Oh, how easy it would be to lose all that honor because a premade didn't like me not staying in base with them to fight off minion waves while I pushed to Nexus turrets.
And so what would I have to look forward to? Spending the rest of the season at Honor 0 and barely climbing again? Meager dust rewards and champion tokens for champs I already own?
