Any third party program is “use at your own risk”.

The rule of thumb is if it provides any information or ability in game that you wouldn’t normally have, it’s not allowed. As an example, an overlay to time jungle camps on the minimal would likely be prohibited, but an overlay that shows who you’re talking to on a third party voice communication app wouldn’t be.

When in doubt, it’s best to just not use it, as if it interferes with the client at all and is detected, it may result in a ban.

All the things in common that i've seen with the third party software bans is an account hack. Somebody played the games on someone else's account and got them banned.

Overwolf is not a program that Riot will ban you for. In-fact it has many helper programs, overlays, and assistance plugins that Riot actually supports. Some of which made by pro teams themselves for use on overwolf.

Hey, Dana from Overwolf here!

As KnightLakega said, Overwolf apps will not get you banned. We are working closely with Riot to ensure that all the apps we publish are aligned with their Terms of Service and their 3rd party policies. You can check out Riot's stance regarding Overwolf here and here.
