Need Help Combatting Burnout

Short context: I got back into league a few months ago and managed to get out of bronze for the first time (woo!) and was climbing steadily until I hit Silver 2, where I started to lose games, and now I have been hovering around Silver 3 40 LP for a few days. It seems that I'm not going anywhere, up or down, and I feel like I've watched more hours of video on this game than my brain can take at this point. I am feeling uninspired to play because I feel like I've been trying really hard to improve, and I am not seeing those benefits in game.

Now I'm staying up late every night, playing game after game, and getting more and more tired. I've watched so many videos, played so many games, read a lot of articles, and I'm still just "meh."

Any ideas? I would really like to find that competitive fire and start my climb again!

(Thanks in advance!)

Just like real life, the way to combat burnout is a vacation. Stop playing League for a bit, and come back with a clear head.

Yes yes. what the first two mentioned. Take a break from the game it self or do what I d o sometimes just take a break fr om ranked and play ARAMS and or Normals and just try and enjoy the game... which yes that can be hard if you get toxic people or trolls in the game. Either way take a break from ranked. Even if that means you c ant reach your goal by e the end of this split at the least you might t take just a short break and have a nice push late in the split and the come back next season and do even better. At least in theory >.< .

I've started playing just a few games a day. (Warmup match and a few ranked.) I'm not sure if I've just been lucky or I'm looking at the game with a more level head, but I used to carry as adc pretty often. I hard carried a game Draven 19-1 last night and that's my best match for a few weeks.

Just play the new TFT game mode for a bit

Well, if you do not enjoy the game and you just play to reach plat or something, then simply do not play the game.

Being plat/dia in LoL means nothing, it's all for enjoyment. You are probably not going to be a professional LoL player (If that is your plan, then keep playing after a break), if you just do it as a hobby, but get fixated on your rank, i recommend you to take a break, play something else or whatever.

If you do not enjoy the game at all, do not play it!

In conjunction with the video tutorials, you need to review your games as well. Look at every death and look at what made it successful and what made it fail.

There's a feature /note which allows you to take notes in game. You can review those notes later and see if you see a common feature on why things did / didn't work.

im not sure what advice I can give you that you haven't already taken (or would listen to since im stuck in the depths of bronze)

that being said, if need be, take a break from the game for a few days or a week

sometimes when you're doing the same things over and over, you plop into monotony

give yourself a bit of time to see things from the outside, granted you have 0 control over your team mates outside of advice, but you can change stuff you do

maybe your build has gotten predictable, maybe your runes need a change, maybe you need to play something off meta (but still viable)

videos and articles only do so much, since those come from the top level of gameplay and those guys have had years playing against other top players...they know/do things very differently than we do

I had to treat ranked seriously to get out of Silver. Once you realize you cant count on your teammates, you view champion select very differently. I one-tricked Amumu from S2 to Gold about a month ago. Best thing I can do to win is freeze the enemy team in place for 2 seconds and be the playmaker.

Ended up with an 80%+ win rate on Amumu. I've lost a few since then, still in gold though, but now I think i'm like 70% WR. Still higher than my Win-Loss ratio. CLimbing in ranked is a grind, not for fun.
