Talking BM is considered bannable?

Alright so let me get this straight... talking shit to enemy players is considered a bannable offense??? As you can see, all I did this game was talk trash to the enemy Rengar as he was the one commenting negatively on the way I play. Sticking up for yourself is wrong? I really dont understand how I would gain a 25 game chat restriction from something insignificant like this. And it's not only me, the Rengar was talking way more than me about how he's an amazing player and I'm terrible at this. Not only that, but he also doesn't get a punishment....

You sir have never seen the light out of bronze based on some of those comments XD Bronze and silver aren't very different in my opinion idk why players talk so much shit in low Elo games then get banned. Doesn't make any sense

The problem isn't BM'ing, the problem is BM'ing too much.

Even in just Game 1 alone, you trashtalked literally the entire game, and you wondered why you got reported lol.

Forty lines of shit-talk - not BM, mind, shit-talk - directed at Rengar in a chat log of eighty-six lines. Just under half of your chat in Game 1 was shit-talking Rengar, and that's only counting your excessive shit-talking to Rengar. There's still some fairly negative chat besides it.

This isn't insignificant - like I said, this is nearly half of your chat spent acting like an ass to "BM" Rengar. Half of your chat, which, might I add, nearly counts to one-hundred lines of text. I don't ever see anyone talk that much.

Rengar shit-talking doesn't magically exempt you from the rules. I don't understand why some folks seem to think that it's A-O-K to break the rules and start flaming the second they see someone else do so - it doesn't just devolve into a free-for-all when someone starts flaming.

Two questions:

  1. Did you report him?
  2. How would you know whether or not they got punished?

Game 2 has you doing basically the same thing, except with a Warwick instead of a Rengar, and you don't break fifty lines. And yet, still - out of those forty seven lines, you spend thirty-three of them, the vast majority, shit-talking Warwick.

Also, your title is misleading - you say "bannable", but you got a 25-game Chat Restriction, not a ban. But, if you keep acting like this, you will ultimately get banned - 14-day first, and then permanently. If there's any lesson to be taken away from this, it's not that BM'ing is punishable, it's that talking shit is.

Just don't talk back to them or if you cannot control your emotions, mute them. Then report them after the game if you feel they deserve a report.

As far as Riot is concerned, any trash talk is punishable. Keep it up, and it can get you banned.

Sticking up for yourself is not in itself wrong. Sticking up for yourself by retaliating with trash talk is what gets you into trouble. If you think the other person is being toxic, the best thing to do is mute and report. The system completely ignores context. It doesn't matter what anyone else did, if you yourself were toxic in the match, you can be punished for being toxic.
