Banned - Why does Riot only ban based on the amount of reports a player receives?

Just got banned based off this one game.

I understand I was rude in it and I should have muted the duo bot lane but wow I get banned for this? No chat ban? Just banned account? Is this game for children? I didn't even swear in this or use foul language. I called someone trash at the worst.

The duo bot lane rages all game and collectively reports me so I get banned.

I'm going to assume you have received prior punishments, such as a 25-game chat restriction or a 14-day ban?

If so, this behavior could definitely escalate you to a permanent ban. It's not based at all on the number of reports, but rather the behavior shown in games you are reported for. The sort of behavior I've clipped out here simply isn't sportsmanlike or acceptable.

So yes, Riot feels that repeated insulting behavior or unsportsmanlike conduct can earn you a permanent ban. Not because it's "a game for children" but because, simply, that sort of behavior isn't fun to play alongside.

You're insulting your teammates quite a bit. Nothing out of the ordinary for these logs to result in a punishment, certainly nothing to consider some sort of conspiracy theory to explain it.

  2. Have you ever had a chat restriction before, and if so when and how many games was it?
