I get reported for dcing

I lagged out, 500 ping, die in mid, and then can't move from spawn. I disconnect to restart the game, come back, and get creamed because I am 5 levels and about 40 cs behind the other mid player. Then after game, their team says they will report me for afk. WTF, what the fuck was I supposed to do? Sit at spawn hoping that my ping might eventually drop below 500?

Edit: I'm pretty cool now, calmed down a bit. Thanks for all the nice comments. I rlly appreciate it.

Good, I hate playing with people who are too lazy to repair their Internet and computer. They should ban you for that after 20+ games of lagging.

I played from Nigeria with 180 ping stable last summer, no excuses.

sometimes it's not broken stuff. I play majority of the time on college wifi. there are other students that use it and sometimes it lags because of the user load. sometimes it logs me out of wifi in the middle of a game.

and op back to your original issue, I find that if you tell your team what is happening they are less likely to report, especially if you manage to tell them you're going to try and restart your computer

Do you frequently have connection issues, or do you know what was causing it that time? Their reports really don't matter here, as the system automatically detects afk/leavers; it will give a punishment based on how frequently you do it, but if this very rarely happens you may not get punished at all (you would've already been punished if it was going to).

Don't worry about them threatening to report you, just do your best to prevent it from happening again. If you need assistance with discovering or fixing the issue, please let us know and we'll do what we can to help.

I suddenly got a massive ping spike in my last game and couldn't do much of anything. had to restart router to fix it. But i've been having unstable ping ever since they finished their "network maintenance" a few days ago. I normally sit at a solid 49-51, unless router issues, or ISP issues. However i've restarted my router multiple times, as well as my laptop's wifi controller, to no effect whatsoever. Instead of 49-51, I'm back and forth between 55-90+, it never settles on a single number for more than 3 seconds before it goes either up or down. It makes playing really, REALLY, frustrating. I can play on 90 ms (as that's what i used to have where i lived previously, as well as before the server move to Chicago), But the constant up and down makes it very difficult to play consistently.

here is what you do. accept that it happened. you cant change what people say or think. if it bothers you so much send a support ticket into riot and work with them.

what you dont do. Argue with your team. DC isnt as bad verses toxic attitude. if you get baited into being toxic you are still toxic. just mute and get through the match. it makes you feel powerless, but seriously what else are you going to do?
