Open Mid

Not defending when not ALL 5 haven't agreed to FF. If "open mid" is a thing, then just add FF with 4/5 vote required to pass. Why are people allowed to open mid without reprecussions yet leaving/afking in a game with 4/5 early surrender vote fail isn't?

Just had a game where my team which I muted at the first sign of toxicity decided to open mid with 3 out of 5 agreeing to it I assume, because Brand stayed with me to defend Nexus Turrets as much as he could at least. It was 14-1 by 10 minutes, but we hadn't lost an inhibitor or even a tier 2 until this "open mid" stuff happened.

I want to know. Why is it that we need 4/5 to surrender past 20 minutes, and a 5/5 surrender at 15 minutes, but it's okay if 3/5 people walk around in base/fountain/outside of base in an empty lane doing nothing/farming jungle specifically AVOIDING defending the lane with 5 enemies in it when the rest of the team is alive? They might have agreed to it, but I didn't. I can assume Brand didn't.

And even if Brand agreed to it... You need 5/5 to surrender at 15 and we haven't even reached 15 minutes yet. And YET if I or someone else, or heck 3 or 4/5 people decide to afk in fountain/leave the game through disconnecting to leave one guy to defend/play, they get punished then?

Seriously. We won a Nexus turret fight despite being 17-1, and down several levels and items. ONLY because I went in and my team got tempted to throw spells and auto attacks in the enemy team's direction since a few people got low from FIGHTING not even fast push Turret tanking. LCS and Solo Queue are not the same game. Throws happen, and people play silly.

I'm not asking that these people be punished necessarily, though within the current system I'd like this sort of behavior to be punished because it isn't fair if the system suggests otherwise to me. What I'd really like at the very least is there to be /ff or surrender available at 5 minutes or less with a 3/5 vote necessary or something if this is OKAY in Riot's eyes.

If that's how they want to build their game, then I can't do anything about it, but at least let us go if nobody wants to play except one or two guys and it's OKAY for those other people to not want to play. At least then a team can't hold someone hostage to committing to a game just because they decided 4/5 or 3/5 is enough to FF pre 20 minutes.

Going “open mid” is generally considered a punishable offense - anytime a player/players decide to quit the game without surrendering and when the game isn’t over is. That being said, it is punished as other AFKs are - “open mid” is not punished any more severely than is if they just quit the game.

It's not okay. It's intentionally losing the game, which is a punishable offense. Report it.

Of course, that kind of thing will take a manual review, and the chances of that happening are hit and miss. But you never know, you might get lucky and get them punished for inting.

Read the rules. It isn't allowed. Report them and add in the description what they said and then did. Don't expect much though, their system sucks at determining and punishing trolls. There is even a specific category for reporting this. It's giving up.
