Is this community getting worse or is it just because of the start of the season?

It seriously feels like every ranked game I play is filled with more and more of the people that simply ruin the enjoyment. There is at least 1 that feels the obsessive need to show just how much of an arrogant pile of crap they are. Is anyone else running into this? Is it just the start of the season that hasnt sorted these people out of the mainstream yet? Did I somehow offend Riot and this is my punishment?

Seriously ruining every last bit of fun to be had.

This is what happens when your player moderation is fixated on playing chat police rather than identifying and punishing the gameplay-trolling that causes so many players to become upset in the first place. Fail/10

Riot threw away any chance of creating a fun, fresh experience when they ignored literally every warning and concern we had before the preseason was unleashed and everything went to shit. Since then, every patch has arguably made the game feel worse and worse over time, creating a hostile environment for a lot of people. In turn, this anger affects the people they play with, it spreads, and few people are happy as a result.

Riot lets Trolls bait good players into flaming and gets them banned while the Trolls get off scott free.

I think the community is just reacting to the HORRID state of balance. Having so many OP and toxic champs makes it so easy for trolls to ruin the game.

Early season and late season seems to bring out the worst. Early because of "I deserve X rank!" attitudes, and late because of ranked rewards.

Riot needs to do something because trolls are everywhere on ranked. I got harassed by the same troll 2 days in a row so I know reports aren't doing squat because he wasn't even chat restricted and the shit he was saying and doing in the first game were at the very least suspension worthy and should have had him chat restricted at the absolute minimum. He wasn't any better the next day I encountered him and I doubt that report did anything either.

Typically the start of the season brings these guys out of the woodwork. People returning from break during preseason, everyone trying to rush their qualifiers, etc. creates a lot more traffic. More traffic=more trolls. This is why I typically wait a month or so to start my ranked run.

I totaly agree. In rankeds and in normals. Everywhere people just HAVE to be douchbags. Especially wierd in rankeds where their rank depends on it as much as everyone elses. But just as important in normals where people just wana have fun and play together. Toxics need to be cleaned from this community >.<

People don't treat winning as the objective to be achieved - perhaps they might in the beginning, but they soon direct their attention to something else cuz it's just not as significant as say, having fun killing opponents instead of sacrificing themselves for objectives, flaming as hard as they can to bad teammate cuz their life sux, etc. Winning simply doesn't provide enough delight and losing doesn't trigger consequences enough for ppl to care.
Mistakes made are heavily punished for, and it's the entire team that suffers, so your team reacts more and more intense toward your mistakes as this game becomes more snowbally.

As such, it's only natural that community gets more and more toxic, new player or not.

I've been playing since Season 3 and the game has gotten progressively worse with trolls,etc. Normals at this point are a dumping group for toxics who use the game mode as an excuse to abuse people.
