While I myself have never been punished in the 2.5 years I have been playing, I see so many threads about bans and reports on these boards. I feel like it would be a really good tool to allow players to "mute" themselves, or disable chat completely. While not everyone would use it, people who know that they are prone to raging might, and at the end of the day, what's the harm in an optional tool if it helps a small portion of the community?

The funny thing is while I'm reformed now my old account was permabanned for shit talking a month after I asked riot to permanently chat restrict me. Of course I blame myself mostly but who knows me better than me and in retrospect if they would have permanently chat restricted me I'd still have my account which I spent Over 500 dollars on the course of 2 years
