Can i really get banned for being bad?

Ok. I am lvl 40. But 90% of that was just sandboxing bot games. I was always a guy who played for a few months and put it down. I just started playing after a 2 year break.

This time around i really wanted to play this game and see how far i can go. I was 2200 rated in WOW arena so i "assume" i can improve here. Now ill be 100% honest im probably not much better then a Bronz 4. Maybe 3 at the moment.

Still. I feel regular pvp unranked seems like a waste of time. I just want to get through the 10 provisional matches, get placed and go from there.

So, obviously i am learning on the go. I do play a ton of bots co-op games. But its not like pvp. I do watch YouTube videos and read, downloaded a app if you believe this.

Still there is a lot to learn. And so im not that good. I wont lie there are some pretty toxic people but it doesn't bother me. I can laugh it off. But they like to threaten to report me and get me banned.

Can i be banned for not being good? Now i don't reciprocate the insults. I once told a guy to stop crying, but for the most part i just ignore and do my best. But i would be upset after a long day of work, if i could not sit down and play a game or two because i got banned because i was not good a jungle or ADC.

Please don't jump from bots to ranked. Play norms first. Bots do a terrible job of teaching you the game, beyond the real bare-bone basics.

Riot can tell the difference between a bad player/bad game and someone who's genuinely trolling/inting. So you're fine.

You won't be banned for just being bad, no. Unless you're somehow so monumentally bad that it actually looks like legitimate inting, of course. But I don't think that's actually possible.

It most definitely NOT a waste of time if 90% of your game experience in League are bot games. What is the rush to jump into ranked? You need the stop gaps between bot games and ranked game with normals.

keep in mind, the behavior that people exhibit in games is generally not allowed.

Riot is just slow to punish people. really slow.

like it takes months of bad behavior to get a 2 week ban, for most people.

I don't think you'll get banned unless you are intentionally being bad and not trying. But I'm pretty sure if someone is salty enough they will report you and claim you were inting or griefing. I doubt you will actually get banned for it.
