Ideas for fair and safe game dodging in ranked

I figured I'd start a thread for a type of un-sportsman like conduct that currently seems to have no way of reporting and actually punishes the victims as a way to brain storm ideas on what can be done in the hopes that riot may see some of it. Currently in ranked there are punishments for dodging a game in the pick and ban phase, which makes sense as it does waste everyone's time but I think there should be some way to safely dodge a match when there are clearly people trolling and intending to make the game a loss. I'd rather take the -3 LP hit and wait 5 minutes then suffer through a 20 minute un-winable game and lose 18+ LP. The open question is what could Riot do to allow us to dodge and report the guilty parties in such a circumstance while still punishing those who dodge games without reason and cause other to wait?

My thoughts are a sort of get out of jail free card type system. Every month or so (or even based on the new honour system) a user gets a dodge without punishment for x number of matches (probably just 1). Also an ability to report un-sportsmanlike behaviour before a game even begins would be handy.

Dodging is not an action that Riot intends that players do. Think of it this way, if you dodge a game because you think (or know) someone is going to troll or int, then that person has effectively avoided a possible report. If players like these get dodged all the time instead of reported, as Riot intended, it will take longer for punishments to be doled out to the wrongdoers.

I think if we had the option to report and kick someone from the lobby then this get out of jail free card wouldn't be necessary.

Anyone could start a vote, 3 other players need to agree but it shouldn't be available for premades of any size since supposedly they have a higher chance of winning anyway so no reason to spam this type of vote. Except this vote/report should have a weight and if the _**resources **_would be there and the champ select phase were to be looked at manually, then for each false vote the player is revoked the right to one next vote. Because if it's a god dam blind and someone wants to go garen support then by all fkn means, I'd love to see that. If someone is outright toxic or going 'mid or feed' then the simple chat log should suffice to judge the vote. Right?... right?...

I like this a bit more than some of the other ideas that have been presented for it. The core problem of the other one are still present though.

  1. Abusing a player to try and force a leave. (which I guess is one reason for the system?)
  2. Premades earning dodges and then just doing it to: a. Troll or b. Get team mates/champs to their liking.

Would using this force me out of que for a time? (Probably just to avoid potential of joining same people.) Would someone be able to report someone and then dodge with this method add more weight to a report?

The problem with lowering dodge penalties in any way (which includes such once a month situations) is that it actually empowers lobby trolls. All they want to do is make you dodge so they don't have to. The last thing they want is a game that actually starts, because then they can be reported, so the more likely somebody actually is to dodge after being trolled in the lobby, the happier the lobby trolls.

So the short version is: Lower dodge penalty => Less hesitation to dodge => Higher success rate for lobby trolls => More lobby trolling

The only way to fix this situation is with a pregame report option. Nothing else is really needed, and I honestly don't believe anything else will help.
