Your chat ban system seems a little off (Looking for further riot input)
Buckle up Riot, because this is a long one.
First, let me say that I am not perfect, and I wont pretend to be. I have had one two week ban in the past that made me really look at how I communicate and play, and I have worked my best to change for the better. I make use of Mute frequently and I have never once in ALL my league history made any racial/homophobic/sexist comments because i know how badly those things hurt and more often than not those are words used against me.
But... the line has GOT to be drawn somewhere. Let's look at this chat ban I received that dropped the only honor progress I had been making in months (as you know... staying quiet in chat and playing anything less than perfect earns you zero honors). I submitted this to Player Support, as I was ABSOLUTELY BAFFLED at how this warranted a chat ban, and got some strange answers that don't seem to match up with what I have seen here. So Riot Boards, please give me your thoughts. I only have my half of the chat available, but I have placed in comments what was said in parenthesis and this is how i sent it to player support. I will post their reply in a comment below.
I have received chat bans before, and I have become better over time because of them. The ones in the past I have deserved 100%, but not this one. I read the entire chat log, and it's only based on a single game. The game prior to that my client did not load into and I got called a leaver even though I did everything I could to log back into it. I accepted that loss.
The chat log has no profanity, i didnt call anyone anything. The beginning was someone asking me in pregame how i was doing, i said terrible because of me not being able to load into the prior game..I NEVER afk.

Based on the chat log you used as evidence against me, I really dont feel like I deserved this chat restriction. I did 100% Deserve the others, but I really have been trying to be better about it. This, however, I really did not deserve. I believe you guys get it right 90% of the time, but for some reason the algorithm didnt pick this up right.. > > Please let me know if there's something that can be done.
This was the only game on the restriction card. The only thing that was ever referenced. Here was Riot's reply:

So I responded, I needed to know WHAT in that was so terrible that got me restricted, while the Alistar I reported.... got nothing. I did not get any "instant feedback report" and I haven't since despite reporting a myriad of toxic players who use slurs that the chat blocks out.

I REALLY want to believe that league's punishment system is fair, but based on this case I'm beginning to feel like it isnt. I want to keep improving and getting better about my communications and i HAVE been. I've been working really hard at it because im a very defensive person... but this feels like a "no discourse at all, no one is allowed to disagree" even when one side is CLEARLY the aggressor and the other is responding while not being inflammatory.

One thing to remember is that while the game can be incredibly frustrating at times, we want all players to do their part in avoiding negative behavior. > > While I know its difficult to ignore the negativity of others. Moving forward, I would avoid venting your frustrations out on your team, and I would take advantage of the mute function that prevents players from ruining your own experience as it only takes 1 report for us to start reviewing a players behavior possibly leading them to a chat restriction or worse. Simply mute and report in the post game with a brief description and that's all we'll need to start investigating a player. There are clearly some issues here:

^It's a legitimate question. If he speaks to anyone that way as often as he spammed me, then how does someone so toxic have an account still? The only thing I am responding to is Alistar's extreme behavior in chat, not his gameplay.
It's not right Riot. This is bull. I have worked VERY hard to earn my checkpoints back to honor 2 in order to get my rewards, but somehow THIS is what took them away.
I have been with you since I first discovered the game in season 4, struggled to keep up with all the changes made to the game, but did so because I love it. I have changed my behaviors because I love it... but somehow you refuse to see the difference between ACTUAL toxicity....and this... I dont get it.
