I was playing Garen top, with Nidalee , Talon, Blitzcrank, and Janna. I died to riven two times early game, but won lane to inhib, and then talon said this.

Talon : ill trace your account garen Talon: get a gun

For the rest of the game, we grouped mid, and our team did pretty well. That is, until talon stopped coorperation with us. He would get caught by himself and not listen. He threatened and harassed me in /all chat, and then gave the same death threats to Blitz and Janna, saying he would break us.

Talon: Janna dumbfuck, I'll trace you too Talon : get a gun Janna : Bit*h please Talon: Blitz i will come break you Talon : Run

And many more, way horrible words he used.

We reported him, but my question is :

Can players trace accounts?

If the guy is somehow good enough with computers to trace your account, he'd have much better things to do with his time than get into childish altercations over a game of League.

Dude was making an immature, empty threat. Still, report him. That sort of behavior is messed up.

I wouldn't give them any credence; While it may be possible, it's highly unlikely and is very illegal. Simply mute and report them, and if you feel threatened submit a Support Ticket to ensure Riot takes the appropriate steps against them. You may use the category I have a question > Game & Features > General Questions.

Come check out my post about those same things "Remaking the Game When there is a Troller or Feeder" and for that, he can trace your account if he is those kinds of people who is bored enough to do that, and that might be illegal to the US law if he did get into your property(home).

If your LOL summoner name is tied to an email or social media account then yes you can be traced. If not I wouldn't worry about it.

Let's be honest.

If someone had the ability to trace your account all the way to you, they wouldn't be threatening you online on a video game. A person sending a death threat on this game is equivalent to a 12 year old in Call of Duty saying that they'll come over to your house and beat you up. Basically, it's most likely an empty threat made by someone going on full tilt/

Though, the kind of attitude that the Talon had should definitely be addressed. If you have screenshots of the whole thing, send it to Riot through a support ticket. Even though it's League and tensions can get high, there is no excuse to threaten someone's life just because of a video game. Those kinds of people do need to get banned, and probably get some professional psychiatric help, because they are not mentally fit or well.
