@ riot So this disgusting form of trolling currently goes unpunished by autobans

So basically what happened was that I queued up for jungle which I ended up getting. One of my teammates, however, picked jungle as well thinking he could force me to play top this way (which was the role he got) but I refused to do so. He then continued to disrupt my jungle farming by taking camps out of my reach or smiting them right in front of me at which point I knew that the game was already over because further playing would be impossible given how far behind the enemy jungler this had put me. Instead of giving in to this troll and going top, which would have been very hard given the unfavorable item path that I had already comitted to + the level disadvantage, I then decided to follow him around for the rest of this aggravating game making it look like I too was trolling, especially for the enemy team who didnt know what happened exactly. Normally I would have afkd in this case but the autoban system which would have tagged me kept me from doing so because then the only person who would have gotten punished would have been me (ridiculous). This brings me to my main problem with this; the guy who was trolling repeatedly stated that he would never get banned for what he was doing as the only ways of triggering the autobans (which make up for pretty much all the cases of people getting banned) would be by using one or multiple words which the system considers offensive or by afking and thereby activating the leaverbuster, which to my knowledge is correct. So that means that playing nice and deliberately disrupting your teammates play through ways the system cant detect, such as taking their farm, purposely feeding their laners kills(unless very excessive) currently goes unpunished because of the very small number of manual reviews which would be required to detect them. Thats why I call this disgusting, avoiding being banned themselves because they are well aware of which actions entail serious consequences for their accounts and what they can get away with, and then trying to make their teammates commit punishable offenses such as flaming the trollers in response to the trolling or afking. Therefore I figured that the only way to get this guy punished would be to post this and hope a rioter sees it and acts accordingly. This reminds me of that one case of 2 players trolling half of their games by keeping their teammates locked in spawn by alternating tahm kench devours and anivia walls which probably got some of their victims banned who afkd because of it. It was only when this case was brought to riots attention via someone else spreading footage of it online that those players got banned.

I know a lot of resources would be needed but a lot of cases of trolling absolutely require manual reviews and simply cant be covered by autobans. Worse, these very autobans then get players banned who dont deserve it.

The player trolling was the Yi on my team and yes I did deal 0 damage to champions that game because the way I wanted and had every right to play was made impossible by this Yi. (other option would have been to try and pick fights with enemies while being severely underleveled and underequipped so I really could not have been of any use to my team and in any case, this Yi needs to banned not me.)

Your knowledge is incorrect.

  1. There is no such thing as a "trigger word" for a ban. There are certain types of speech that Riot has a hardline stance on (hate speech, threats irl ect.) but if you look through the boards you will see examples of players getting banned without even swearing if they are still immensely negative.
  2. Leaverbuster is the only true "autoban" in the sense that it is entirely automated from detection to issuance of punishment. Behavior and language are based on reports. If certain behavior is repeatedly reported the system will issue punishments for that sort of behavior upon reports. All it takes is a single report to trigger the system to look at a given game. The system has some leeway for many things to account for having a bad day or game but if this is constant behavior and people consistently report there will be punishment. Remember, you will only be notified of a ban in client if you were the last person to report a player triggering their ban.

As for this particular game, welcome to League. There are trolls here. DON'T FEED THE TROLLS! Don't engage them, it isn't going to improve the situation. If they are verbally being toxic, mute them. If their actions are toxic, suck it up and remember the odds of getting a troll on your team is the same as getting one on the other team. Over the long run it's all a wash, your play will be all that matters.

Think about the source from which this information is coming.

This guy was actively inhibiting your progress in game. He was trying to worsen your gaming experience. This is intentionally trying to lose the game, not some awkward strategy.

You play and report at the end of the game screen. It flags the game and if he continues the behavior and is reported he would suffer penalties.

Now an idea what could have changed; asked the adc to go top and have the support pick (probably tanky supporty top, like Sion) who can farm somewhat safely and is a pain to kill, with decent wave clear. This lets you double jungle, and with you and the other jg you go invade to counter jungle frequently to put the enemy behind. Is it the perfect solution? No. Should he have tried forcing you out? No, but you still try and make the best from a bad situation.

If you try to model your play around the rest of your team and work with them and everyone reports the troll, he may get flagged. You refusing to ever engage the enemy team doesn't help your cause.

The only thing that matters is that you are reporting him. Not sure why you believe (and why he claims) he'll never get ban. Both of you clearly dont know how the report/banning process works, if you think they only thing that triggers it is words. Yes it will take some time for the system to catch him, but as long as you report him, and he continue to act like this thus resulting in more people reporting him in his future games he will get punished. You are basically asking for him to be punished from this one game and trolling wise this just doesnt happen. Just gotta wait it out sadly. It doesnt help though that he is saying all this in chat. If he does get a manual review its pretty clear what he is trying to do and thus would be result in a ban.
