Should we get a LeaverBuster due to a BugSplat in a bot game!?

Hi there! So yesterday during the loading screen of a bot game my client froze and as a result of this I had to reboot it and start the game with a delay of 8 minutes. About an hour ago, right after the champion selection, the client started a repair due to a problem in the installation (ofc causing me to join the game about 15 minutes after it had started). I get it that the bug is in my files, but after all how could I know about it, and do I really deserve a LeaverBuster!?

They include bot games partly so new players don't learn bad habits. Have you ever heard the phrase "Practice how you compte, compete how you practice"? If you learn in practice (bot games) that it's ok to leave and there's no penalties, you'll move on to more competetive games (normals, ranked) with that learned behavior.

You would see an increase in both leaves, and posts (complaints) wondering why they got punished for something that had previously been acceptable.

And before you bring up levels or rankings, keep in mind anyone can be queued together for bots, so it would be counter productive and unfair for new players to get punished while their experienced teammates have immunity.

I think its deserved because its your responsibility, and there is no reliable way to distinguish between game crashes/bad internet/intentionally leaving. You can test the client with the practice game mode or custom games if you are experiencing issues. Those don't hit you with leaverbuster if you get a game crash. If the issues are consistently cropping up its your responsibility to figure out a fix, either by reaching out to support or discussing the issue on the forums.

One leave doesn't net you a leaverbuster penalty, for the very reason that sometimes leaving is beyond your control. It takes a pattern of leaves to get hit with leaverbuster penalties.

Leaverbuster is the one system where I disagree with Riot.... I feel like bot games should be exempt from LB and that intent should matter when it comes to leaving... but... it is what it is.

Yes. According to unreliable robots that run this stupid client. Yes.
