14 Day ban with 1 game/3 lines of 3 letters

Hey guys!

I need some feedback for more insight on my ban. Here's some backstory of who I am as a player and what happened during my game. I've started playing League of Legends in preseason 4, and have enjoyed game nearly everyday. Haven't gotten banned or a chat restriction prior to this. So that's nearly 4 years now. I have played maybe idk over 5000 games or so total, and have been fairly sportsmanlike since I've begun. Yes, I would say I was toxic when I was younger but never extremely repetitive, only when I had a bad day. I do think that I sometimes get reported from teammates that think I'm feeding (or something like mistakenly taking wrong masteries) for having a bad game, but then again who doesn't?

Regarding that particular game/day : I was working a late shift at the restaurant I work at, and thats quite the stressful environment, so I was tired and frustrated after work. So I thought some League may have been my medicine to fix my mood. I played around 4 games in the late evening/morning (somewhere around 4 AM). I was fairly calm with the occasional enemy missing ping to my teammates if they caused a mistake in the first 3 games. It was the 4th game, as Fiddlesticks mid that really aggravated me to the point where I said "%%%" 3 times to my Evelynn Evelynn Jungle, yet it was more or less a fire fighting fire situation, as she wasn't so friendly either. After my first time of saying it I muted her as I should've, yet when mute someone I tend to mute all 3 mute options (the chat, the ping, the new emote thing). But what I believe is my worst mistake is that I unmute them once I think the situation has cooled down. Big mistake! As it made me say it twice more. When it came to reporting her, I missed the chance as I was already trying to move on to the next game so I just clicked play again. Id love to say that this ban of mine is unjust, and shouldve maybe resulted only into a chat restriction. Please give feedback and help me understand this ban and if I have the option to appeal it or something of sorts.

I will try my best to answer any questions regarding context, but here's context about majority of the lines: the stuff about league not being fun etc. was after my Darius say GLHF to the enemy team and their Taric responded its no fun cause of people flaming, people doing dumb plays and feeding etc., comes late: my support connected late into the game, 3 people were in my lane (mid lane), twitch ulted, yi and twitch are strong(k), the yi and twitch had a lot of true damage and we had no tank/engage, and all of the "%%%" were directed at the Evelynn as she didnt comply with the team and flamed me and our Kog'Maw KogMaw (unsure what she said to him as i had her muted at that time/I didnt even mute/report the toxic Kog'Maw, and he was very nasty towards her)

I know that I shouldn't have done this, and kept the Evelynn muted throughout the entirety of the game and reported her post game, but the better of me gave her a chance and the worst of me harassed her. I do appreciate all feedback and would love if a Rioter would chime in to my situation. I have submitted a ticket similarly outlining my situation.

No other context is required.

Riot has a 0 tolerance policy against hate speech and speech that encourages people to harm themselves.

Punishment for such actions is 14-day ban for first punishment, permaban for second punishment.

Yes. That is a good motto for any company especially in the gaming industry. Yet I have had that happen to me, where I got flamed so I reported them and sometimes the notification about you helping in penalizing them would pop up and other times it wouldn't. I brushed that off as the system needing several games of bad haviour/verbal abuse to happen and that that was just an outlier game for them.

You only get a notification if your report triggered the ban. If you report them and they get banned the next game (with your report helping), you won't get a notification.

What I'm saying is that after reporting terrible terrible offenses they did not happen to have gotten a ban. Contrary wise my ban happened within 1 minute as the game finished. Another pointer is that on a secondary account of mine just 1 day after my ban was issued I saw similiar behavior to what mine was and I decided to report that person. That person still continues to play several hours after. I feel as if my reports arent worth doing anymore as no action comes from them. Yet i get banned quickly after messing up and being toxic for a game. This only makes me hate this system more and more. Truly speaking I'm finding it hypocritical.

If they did something worth punishment they get punished, that's the beauti of an automated system. The notifications come random. Punishments are given even when you don't realize it.

Then you go on and check their match history and they are currently in a game. Very fair!

Yes. That is exactly how the system works.

I don't know your behavioral history, but chances are your history isn't that clean.

The reform card doesn't show you all the games that were taken in account for your punishment, it only shows you 1-5 "recent" games of unacceptable behavior.

I can put my hand on my heart and say that this was the only game of actual flame in months if not years. I tend to instantly mute people if they arent to my liking or are aggressive towards others. This was an outlier.

Sorry bro, while I want to believe you, I don't know your behavioral history, nor can I change anything within your account.

However, if you wish to dispute this punishment, you are welcome to send in a support ticket at http://support.riotgames.com and have them re-review the punishment.

this does not matter, bans are based on what you said alone and nothing to do with outside knowledge or what happened in game. you must have gotten a chat ban in the past year otherwise you would not be escalated to a 14 day ban.

that being said once you get off your 14 day ban you should tread carefully for a year because that is when your punishments decrease

Yeah what I said wasn't right. I can see that now that its basically blurred what I said, but I feel like I should have gotten a chat restriction. I had reached level 5 honor and never gotten a chat restriction before, the worst I had was low priorty queue for several games. And yes of course I will tread lightly from now on. But is it not something like 9 months?

depending on what you said that riot blurred it can change, if you said anything racist/homophobic, it will be escalated to the 14 day ban, if you said %%%, it will also be escalated to the 14 day ban, other then that if this was your first offence ever it should not have given you a ticket, I would say go to riot support and submit a ticket and have them go over it with you so you can get a better understanding. Hope that helps, have a great day, and hopefully i will not see you on the board again because that would be bad given the circumstances :)

Hate speech, even if it's your first time getting in trouble for it, is an automated 14 day ban. Riot has a No Tolerance policy for a reason.

Also, just because someone is playing doesn't mean they didn't get punished. Depending on what their punishment would be would depend on if they're still playing or not. Some people don't use hate speech and do indeed get chat restrictions for being toxic.
