Does Riot ever plan on giving people a chance to earn their very old permabanned accounts back?

Like they did years ago with the level 1-20 trials? I know it had a 5 percent success rate or something like that, but I figured maybe they've been thinking of strategies to improve on it.

It'd just be nice to have a chance to get the accounts back we lost long ago when we were younger. Have us right at the perma ban tier punishment again so our next offense would be another perma, hell even make it so one single legit report on the account would give us the permaban so people can't fuck up a bunch of games and get away with it.

IIRC it had a sub 5% success rate, so they decided to stop doing it, since it clearly didn't work.

But were the punishments severe after? Like if people re-offended were they immediately permabanned again? I know when I first started playing in season 3 when they had the tribunal that thing took so long to punish people whereas now accounts get hit by the ban much quicker.

From what I understand, it took more to get permabanned then (this was the age of infinite chat restrictions), but Riot Support hand picked the players they thought would be most likely to change their ways and they still had sub 5% success rate.

I suspect if people thought they could just get their account back if it got permabanned it would lessen the effectiveness of the existing punishments. It would basically turn "perma" ban into "X amount of games on another account" ban.

Keep in mind too. "Refusing to communicate with team" was still a report category. Placebo report or not. Reforming players couldnt simply "not use chat" out of fear of getting banned anyway.

Fajisel is correct in regard to alternative punishments for people who would have been permabanned but were given a second chance. I believe they tested a permanent chat ban for those players and it wasn't very successful because although they couldn't verbally abuse the others anymore, they would find other ways to grief their teammates in game.

I don't really trust any statistics from Riot so there is no telling where the truth actually lies in that test period.

I don't know, you seem to be the one going around to various threads and trolling... just having a look at your post history and the sheer number of downvotes alone is definitely enough to certify that you're a troll. I don't think you know what the word troll means to be honest. Disagreeing with people on this board doesn't mean someone is trolling.
