i can understand the chat restriction cause i did get a bit toxic but this man flamed me all game calling me trash boosted and he gets nothing like wtf is the point of reports if the people that ruin peoples games don't get some sort of punishment

If he was toxic, and if you reported him, then it goes on his record. If he gets enough games with reports (just like you), then he gets punished. Since you yourself are evidence of reports being successful, it doesn't make much sense to complain that people don't get punished. But unless he was spewing hate speech, he's not going to get punished for just one game.
Please, do tell us how you know the other player "[got] nothing"?
