I received my first chat ban, need advice to improve

Hello everyone,

I have been playing league of legends for over 2 years now, I play normal draft pick and play 5-6 days a week anywhere between 2-8 games per day.

Yesterday I received by first ever penalty; a 10 game chat ban. I deserve the ban I was negative but I still want to discuss a few features of the current tribunal system in place and ask for your advice on how to remain a positive player.

Yesterday I had a pretty interesting morning I went about 7 games in a row of trolls, intentional feeders.

To sum it up short i had 5 games of intentional feeders, 2 of trolls in a row, you can view my game history if you please.

I just want to understand how the tribunal system works, Why is it that there are people that can run down mid for the first 5 minutes of the game, than go back to jungling to make it seem like they spent the game doing something to avoid penalty, people out there literally sabotaging games for other people and these people don't get punished, but people who speak up to these people do?

The punishment I received was from the course of 3 games.

How do you guys deal with people like this who intentionally ruin games?

You're responsible for your own actions. It's why only your chat is given on the reform card, the only thing that matters with the punishment system is your own actions. If reported those other people will be held responsible for their actions.

Toxic chat is punished quicker than toxic gameplay because it's just easier to see.

ill give you unpopular advice , if you meet trolls in game and you are confident nothing cant be done ( you cant carry , they will not stop inting or flaming etc ) just go with it mute all chat and have fun , game is already lost so go for every super sick play you can see , if you menage to do it at least one thing positive will come out from already lost game

people are punished, you just don't see them getting punished.

Riot does a horrible job in showing that the system works.

EDIT: as for being positive, try this tip: "if it isn't gameplay related, don't type it"

Because for some stupid reason, no one cares about context. Context should always be taken into account, and has been for many other cases in the past.

The solution to this problem would be being able to AFK in games without penalty, but that would be abused.

I just play ranked. Ranked games have less trolls (at least in higher elo) Also try to ignore them. It's mainly their own life they're ruining, if they troll your game, don't be angry, try your best to improve in this game while they're trolling. You can still improve last hitting minions, warding and much more. Try to make the best of the situation.

MUTE. REPORT. MOVE ON.

Make sure to add what they did in the comment box. "intentionally fed first 5 mins" ect. This help riot know what to look for.

How does "speak up to these people" help? Do they stop? Or does it just make you get a restriction because you might go a bit overboard?

Well here are some options.

  1. /mute all And never talk(not a fan of this one)
  2. Limit yourself to single non offensive words. IE. GJ Baron Dragon B ECT.
  3. Control yourself and never type anything negative EVER. By all means think it. Scream it. just don't type it.

To give you a example. I was playing and we had a person feed 5 kills then afk. I was a bit livid.

So i started yelling at my computer. Words you should not say in front of anyone........

My wife thought i was talking to her.........(lets just say i had some explaining to do).

However I didn't type and so I didn't get banned.(just had to deal with a irate wife.....learn to make a woman's favorite dessert and she will forgive almost anything!)

I tend to get bothered by the /all chat so I have disabled it in the settings, and I refrain from typing at all except for positive comments like "good job" "wp" etc.

Talking to them or trying to deal with these players will get you nowhere except to tilt-town and get you reported as well. So just ignore/mute/report.

Slightly off-topic - Happy new year!

first of all let me say, it´s nice to see a person reacting to this befor 2 week ban or perma ban...soo many ppl think if they just whine hard enough then suddenly does the term of use not work.

im gonna skip abit becuase the first part of your post is kinda like white noice.

okay so you had your first punishment.

resonable.

just highlighting this for later, go on...

see this is where imma gonna need to stop you, riot already know the tactic of just farming jungle, it isn`t new (have been there sense S2), and the system is already picking up on it, the system in place looks at patteren in ppl playstyle, if exsample a mid suddenly goes jungle 5-7 min for no reason does it pick up on it.

also the punishment they get is eaiter 2 week ban or perma...theres no warnings in those cases...

I just want to thank everyone for all the helpful responses, I'm really happy that the feedback from you was positive, and no flaming. This penalty has thought me to just keep my mouth shut.

One particular example is I had a Poppy on my team who said she was a pacifist and did not damage throughout the entire game and just danced with enemy team calling them bro's.

It cost us the game, but as advised I just kept my mouth shut and reported at the end of the game.
