Is being competitive toxic?

I got chat restricted. You ve all been there right? Maybe a hard day at work and you SNAP at the 12 year old that was afk so 'i can gut mor exp an gold, cause i m lo lelver' Well,i didnt actually snap.I said 'keep it cool man,you are an adult, just play the game'.But NOO.I got dived and killed by the jungler, mid and top.So now I am the feeder and the whole team is flaming at me.Again i didnt talk to anyone.I just tried to explaing why i am not the reason we lost mid turrent.

Of course you cant reason with them.1 unranked and 2 bronze|||,thx DQ. The thing is that when i talk i use the word 'fuk'.Not against someone but like:'can we get the fing dragon?'.Or 'kill the fing adc'.Or when i finally killed the massively fed jungle gragas,i said:'Die you spawn of hell',trying to be funny.I guess rito finds this behaviour innapropriate?Competitiveness and trash talk is a major component in any sport but now even saying:'plz dont go dragon jngl is up' is toxic.

There were 2 more games that got me chat restricted. Most of them were me just talking and tilting the opponent.Saying things like :'u mad bro?' etc.I guess even THAT is not appropriate.Or saying:'you are 2 divisions down',it's toxic while it's true!!

Anyway,i think that if league is this e-sport,they shouldnt be THAT sensitive and should look both sides of the coin.In the first game i got harassed to the point i didnt want to play any more game that day,BUT because everyone was against me and everyone reported me i am the bad guy. Feels bad man.I guess rito reforms to their audience.12 year olds spent the most money so we better 'protect' them from a competitive environment, while pro league players...cough mete..cough...arent held accountable for more serious reasons.

Edit My post seems to upset many people. If you want chat logs,i dont have them, chat restriction is lifted. If you dont believe what i am saying, then simply dont comment.I am just stating how i feel,i dont really care about a chat restriction whatsoever. If trash talking your opponent considered toxic and innapropriate then stay away from every competitive sport. If just pointing out the obvious is considered 'mean' then reavaluate. If it's true it;s not mean.PC culture is really spreading everywhere. If cursing is worse than trolling, feeding intentionally, helping the enemy team etc then we should not call it 'League of Legends' but 'League of Pathetic Losers'

Most people haven't been.

I just tried to explaing why i am not the reason we lost mid turrent.

If they are looking for someone to blame, it's unlikely you can change their minds. It's best to just mute them and focus on the match, because responding to their taunts is likely to just make it worse.

Of course you cant reason with them.1 unranked and 2 bronze|||,thx DQ.

You're in the group with them because you are within their MMR range. You'll get grouped with people around those divisions regardless of DQ because teams are created according to your MMR not your Rank, and unranked players get a baseline of MMR around where you're at.

Saying things like :'u mad bro?' etc.I guess even THAT is not appropriate.Or saying:'you are 2 divisions down',it's toxic while it's true!!

Being passive-aggressive isn't helping anyone. As above, that kind of behavior is more likely to make things worse than anything else. And just because something is 'true' doesn't mean it's useful to point it out. I could say "You're just a Silver 4", but what does that accomplish other than instigate a fight?

I guess rito reforms to their audience.12 year olds spent the most money so we better 'protect' them from a competitive environment, while pro league players...cough mete..cough...arent held accountable for more serious reasons.

Age and money spent is irrelevant as all players are treated the same. Also, I think you are confusing "competitive" with something else; trash talking is nothing more than immaturity.

If you'd post your chat logs we could probably advise you more appropriately. Cursing isn't a big deal; it's directing it at other players in a manner which creates a negative environment.

6 years, 3 accounts, never been chat restricted. So no, we haven't "all been there". Like MrPharmD, I think it would be more productive for you to post your chat logs. Anybody can claim they haven't done anything wrong.

In the game where you got harassed, you could have simply muted them and reported them. That way it would be them showing up on the boards and making excuses and hiding behind "being competitive", not you.

The best action to take against anyone trying to be mean is just report them for negative attitude and attemping to abuse the reporting system. If they get mad and try to instigate a fight tell them that you believe in them and that they should believe in you too. Go to there lane and help them get a kill or even bite the bullet to let them get out of a fight alive. There's a lot of toxic players like this and usually the higher the rank or mmr the worse they are. They have that "do it my way or get reported" attitude. Or the "All the gold and kills are mine, but i don't have to help teammates" attitude. It sounds to me like they should have been ganking bot lane for you to help you out, but just refused to help you.

Once they see they can't get a rise out of you and you clearly are more dedicated to team work than any of them riot will take that into consideration. I've gotten many toxic players who thought they can blame others for a game going bad in trouble.

I'm not saying riot doesn't make mistakes when it comes to banning because they did a lot in the past. It's what they call white knighting. A team doesn't agree with the champion you picked for your lane or the items you build even though your doing very well and they all report you as a group in an attempt to grief your account out of spite. They'll also not help you purposely to get you killed and attempt to get a intentional feeding report on you.

People are petty crybabies. Even the high rank and mmr adults who play. As long as you don't stoop to there level with your gameplay and chat then there the ones who most likely get in trouble when you counter report. I've seen games turned around just by being super nice to griefers. There whole attitude will change mid game because they they wanna get on your good side before the report is put in in hopes that you change your mind. I often don't report people who I say I will, but use it as a way to get them to focus on the game more so they realize they've been acting like a child.

False; Professional level players in traditional sports are and have been fined and suspended for trash talk, which is a violation of the established rules.

Saying things like :'u mad bro?' etc.I guess even THAT is not appropriate.

No. Shitty memes are never appropriate.

Especially the unfunny, idiotic ones used primarily by 12 year olds.

Most players in League have not been chat restricted. Punished players represent a small percentage of the player base.

You don't get chat restrictions for swearing, you get them for bothering/harassing/insulting/mocking other people. Be respectful and you won't get another one.

Also, e-sports players are held to the same or higher standards than the general playerbase. You BM, you trash talk your team, you get banned from playing. RIP your job.

Without posting your chat logs, we can't really have a discussion about your chat. It's easy to claim that you really didn't do anything wrong without chat logs.

I've done A LOT of trash talking, but I haven't got any punishments for it. So it's a little hard for me to believe that you did for doing the same thing. My guess is that there is more to the story.

If you don't want people to not believe you don't post on the boards without evidence
