Own team banned my champ

So ever since I discovered Gangplank I've been playing him religiously in ranked, especially cause he seems to rarely get banned. I've had about a 75%-80% winrate on him in ranked, and my average KDA and CS is obnoxiously high as well. Carried my way from S4 to my promos to Gold in about a week.

So I'm sitting at 2 wins and 2 losses in my promos(Losses were due to AFKs, as usual) and I post in champ select that I main GP top or mid and link my stats. What does my team captain do? Bans Gangplank. So I try to be a good sport about it, and end up going to a position I'm not nearly as good at(ADC). 10 mins into the game, my top and mid have both died like 5 times.

I didn't do that great that game either, but I was struggling to do everything in my power not to tilt. Ended up losing the series. My question is, is it reportable when your team bans your own champion in champ select like this? Seems like unsportsmanlike conduct IMO.

Nobody cares. Learn to play more people.

Not bannable, and from the way I understood it, you were late in the pick order and they wee afraid that the other team would lock in GP instead, so while it sucks to have your main banned, its just something that happens

That is unsportsmanlike conduct, yes. And point out that you said you intended to pick GP and the person doing the bans then banned GP.

No, the banner can ban whoever they want, in no way is it reportable

Depends on the situation. If they did it because they didn't want to risk the enemy team taking Gangplank then no it's not. If they did it just to spite you and continue to brag about it in the chat (basically trying to use that as an excuse to harass you in the chat) then yes you can report them for it. Like I said though it all depends on the situation. Speaking of which, did you ever ask them why they banned Gangplank?

I generally only mention my main, Azir, after I can tell or not tell how my teams attitude seems.

It is really stupid, but hopefully new champ select changes things. 1st pick isn't going to have all the power with new champ select after all

It's definitely a grey area. I wouldn't necessarily report him for it, but I would be mad. It sounds like you rose quickly, and you'll get back to promos no problem. Honestly, I find the best strat sometimes is to stay quiet in champ select. That way no one can cheese you.

When I'm smurfing in lower elos I always ban Champs my team wants to play.
