Riot need to install an accountability system...not just a ranking leaderboard system
Hello community.
So I wanna talk about my experience for the competitive ranked system of the game and how it has hindered my gaming experience thus far in a very negative manner.
So I am in silver division and the reason why I dont specify it is because it doesnt realy matter what specific. I have been 4 times to s1 promo for gold and then have been around twice to near silver 4.
And this up and going is what I want to talk about specifically. According to this https://www.leaguespy.net/league-of-legends/summoner/scelus-sceleris-5649895#
I may not be the best adc by any stretch of the imagination but my average numbers are pretty close to gold standards. And yet my win ratio is low because of very bad teammates. LoL is by definition a team sport. And yet, I feel the game doesnt reward individual display.
I havent encountered very bad players in my LoL career to be honest, most people know their champion's mechanics, but what they dont know is the understanding of the game.
Let me give you an example of my average game teammate's behavior as I have experienced it from ADC.
- Flaming towards the jungler when the top/mid laner have overpushed, not warded and thus died from enemy gank.
- Flaming from jungler to the team when they make a poor decision, such as contesting drake or helping to freeze a lane while they evaluated that farming jungle creeps is the best way to go.
- Discussing teamfight mistakes, when I, as ADC or the mid player, are clearly the people who can lay most damage to the enemy team and instead of helping peel the enemy team, they outright go to land their mechanics and be killed.
- Leavers/trollers/toxic
Examples as I have experienced the game as a jungler.
- Flaming towards the jungler when the top/mid laner have overpushed, not warded and thus died from enemy gank.
- Lanes feeding and losing in the laning phase without listening when they are told to stop.
- Team not listening when to contest neutral objectives(drakes, baron, herald) for example my smite is on cooldown or when through vision I know what the opportune moment to take those is.
- Leavers and toxic
Now, before I give the tl;dr I wont say I am a person without mistakes, but the fundamentals of LoL for me are there. What I lack is the fundamentals of most champions as I have restricted myself to some champions and not the majority. But the majority of the instances is that most of my teammates are wanting in the department of understanding/appreciating the moba game mechanics of LoL which results in whatever champion mechanic knowledge they possess to get trashed out of the window. The other day our mid Yasuo, with our wukong and me as Braum would not recognize(even when told many times) to utilize the knockup effect of TWO ulties players possesed. I even told him to utilize his ult after they had countered the wukong opener and their spells were on cooldowns by waiting my knockup. Another countless mistake is, in this current meta, players not understanding that levels are part of the grand economy of the game. Top/mid players feeding their lanes by not understanding that even one level greater than them enemy can yield more damage to them.
There are countless examples, people who pick Nasus and are on an internal quest to leave the teams suffering 4v5 while they think stacking to 1000 is also a goal, reality and a way to carry DOTA 2 style. Tryndamere players who always split push and then get shut-downed hard after min 35 which means the death timer takes too long and thus enemy team has taken baron and then have turned the game into a GG. Toxic ADCs, support players who think they are casters playing mid and thus not playing their role properly. The examples are so many....and the thing is that all this current way of ranking people hurts the good players or those who are honestly trying to improve and just enjoy a good game.
Thus, I want to understand from Riot the following;
- Why must I lose the same points with someone who decided after they have fed their lanes, or are facing the result of a bad/weak teammate jungler and have been snowballed, to leave the game and afk?
- Why must the best performing players in a team lose the same points with someone who is very bad performing?
- Why the current system after so many years isnt more elaborate. Kill participation statistics, teamfight participation statistics, key role statistics to perform how somebody contributes, positively or negatively to their team, isnt in place?
- Why someone who doesnt care of their leaderboard and naturally is on the lower end of the divisions (silver and bronze) and could be labelled as casual is rewarded/affected the same manner as a good performer or someone who tries? Example of this is that a player who gets frustrated due to their bad knowledge of the game they will go afk/leave the game and ruin it without really caring of whether that will count as a loss or someone will lose their promo.
There has to be an accountability system, or as I like to call it a sportsmanship system, something to actually weed out bad performing players from those who can see their consistent improvement of the game be shown to their leader board. And this is all due to behavior...in every sport in the world, within the talent limitations of a player and what the sport demands, hard work isnt a metric which is far out of reach for everyone...its just the behavior behind hard work. Fundamentals have to get rewarded and if there is a sportsmanship/accountability system in place I am pretty positive the algorithm will pit same branded players with each other...thus the bad players will always, deservingly, stay where they are and the chances of elevation for better performers will go up
