Plat is no different from gold.

Just played my first few games in plat and I can tell you it's absolutely no different from gold. The last two games I had an exact repeat of each other it was like deja vu. Someone raged over something extremely small like taking a few cs, had an afk, had intentional feeders.. reported but nothing will be done; i'm sure. Riot is much more concerned with banning people who are "verbally abusive" yet much more skilled and aren't trolling anyone. Why is this better, you ask? because there's a mute button and at least that way you can still win. unlike having an afk, troll, intentional feeder who it doesn't matter if you mute, you're going to lose anyway. no matter what your score is. Seriously, this game has been on a steady decline for while but it got a lot steeper since the introduction of dynamic queue. Please, riot. Stop banning decent players who are "verbally abusive" and just stick with chat restrictions. It's making the community and gamer pool a lot more toxic.

I completely agree with this. There is a very easy way to stop people from being verbally abusive. There is a button you can click on when you hold TAB called the 'mute' button. It is very simple and easy to use. People who are aggressive and rude are not the problem in this community. Those who intentionally feed or assist the enemy team because they think it's funny are the ones Riot should be focused on banning.

yep, and most of the people who are not trolling and getting called out on verbal abuse are getting called out for being upset and minor comments made on their troll team mates game play. continuing with chat restrictions is probably the best idea, it would not be fair to ban people as they climb up the ladder.

Could you not simply stop being verbally abusive?

It isn't like there is some massive jump when you cross the line into the plat. The difference between a gold 1 and a plat 5 is the same as the difference between a gold 2 and a gold 1. The difference between your last gold game and your first plat game is basically nothing.

Skill has nothing to do with punishments.
