The correlation of KDA and Player Behavior

KDA seems to influence strategy and attitude towards players in lower elo. Does anyone have a fix besides: play with your friends or just mute them? This is a team game so we need to be on par with each other.

** Here is my example of what could be done.**

Can we change KDA to something more manageable? We all know a person's KDA,or really just KD, can heavily influence team strategy throughout the progress of a game.

** In low elo, this guy calls the shots.** What we have now: 9/3/9
My proposal: 18(9)/3 = kills + assists (kills)/deaths

** In low elo, this guy is a "feeder" and isn't allowed much input.** Support Example: 3/3/25
Proposal: 28(3)/3

Can't tell you how many games I have seen where someone is sitting at 3/8/15 in game saying, "We should do an objective." Only to have my teammates say "You are 3/8 stfu." And then proceed to do something not useful.

That's funny 3/3/25 is a great score. It would be cool to have a KDA ratio # right next to the scoreboard, like just the ratio.

So that score would have a KDA ratio # of 9.33. That way people, can just look at the number to determine the actual value of the player's score if they're too dumb to realize it already. Great post.

You make a correct assessment in that most Bronze player's internal scoring of their performance does not coincide with victory/defeat.

That's why Bronze players.

Some of them will eventually adjust their ideas of what counts as good performance and act on their changing views -- a basic trait of intelligence.

If people care so much about K/D/A they deserve to lose/stay in low elo. Learning what actually counts is part of getting better at the game. I'm against that change.

Don't change the KDA. Add a KDA Ratio instead for the scoreboard. Problem solved.

Umm, I don't listen to a thing anyone says anyway, so what is the point? When people start telling me what to do is when they get muted lol.

3/3/25 is called a "feeder"?

where? ._.

There is no correlation between Scoreboard and Player Mentality.

A player carrying 25/0/14 can be a flamer, and a 0/25/1 be a paragon of positive mental attitude.

The only correlation between KDA and player mentalities is for lesser player inexperienced at what they are doing crowding around and following directions from the one person they haven't immediately concluded is an asshole from their own pet peeves.

Which isn't relative to the subject, because that's basic mob mentality and the baseline foundation of the Deathball tactic.

That's just unnecessarily confusing

The thing about the KDA ratio, while I LOVE the idea of showing KDA, it promotes elitism. This game is already toxic enough with people seemingly and consistently flaming and attacking each other. The addition of a KDA to show someone's "worth" will just make it look even worse because then people will get into fights over who has the better KDA.

Personally, I prefer someone who is slightly negative with a not so great KDA, but is excellent at taking objectives (e.g. a jungle who rushes in and helps lane push turret, a jungle who gets dragon when the team is overall ahead, while they are behind, etc, a support who sacrifices their life to save their adc, etc.).

Another options would be to leave the death count as it is. Keep the kills count, but change the assists to a percentage of a kills and add that up with the kills number. That would just confuse people with fractions, but it would make sense.

Kills: 1 Deaths: 1 Assists: 3 (1 at 50% of the gold of a kill and 2 at 25% of the gold of a kill)

In the end the KD is just 2/1

In adding to this entire post. The better your kda, the more people respond to you or your decisions in game in a positive manner. At least in all of my games it has been the case. When you have poor kda anything you say can be like "Hey man, stop being so salty." or "Shut up and play." Even if all you said was, "I'm going to be playing safe up here, you guys do what you gotta do."

This isn't needed, and here's why. A: If you're good you know what shots are good in first place, and know when to acknowledge or deny them. Whether people choose to listen or not is their prerogative. b: People listen to active shot callers, consistently making "good calls" and pings is how you get players to listen to you. This is usually the job of players who roam or have a high level map awareness. C: If someone states you're a 'feeder' during the game you either. -1: Feeding and failing to listen to their sound advise. -2: They're toxic players and are just harassing you to feel superior. D: Score doesn't make you any more viable a shot caller then the 0/2/4. As you already stated. "you're 3/8 stfu." Means they likely only coined off your careful plays to receive that score and are going to lose you game in first place. Only thing you can do is evolve your strategy to make use of that player's style of play and try to direct them through vision and pings.

If you include the kills at all, people are still only going to look at the kills. If you don't include the kills, it'll be less clear whether or not you have the advantage over the enemy team. Pass.
