Rewards for people banned before August not after?

So I was banned for defending myself against toxic teammates a while back. I now learned not to defend myself but to just let my team flame me all game and issue a report after. Thanks for the lesson Riot! Anyway I was banned after August 22nd, so therefor have no rewards. I read Riots statement regarding all season 7 rewards and they said if someone was banned before August 22nd, or after the season they still get to keep their rewards. But if you were one of those unlucky few who were banned between that time period, Riot thinks your the most garbage of them all and that you deserve nothing. So can someone, preferably a Riot employee tell me how it's fair that someone who may have been banned before August 22nd who was banned for insanely toxic behavior is still eligible for their rewards where as someone who was banned for trash talking trash talking teammates isn't? That just doesn't seem fair at all. Btw this is maybe my 3rd post and I've yet to have a Riot employee reply to this issue. Thank you.
