Rewards for people banned before August not after?

So I was banned for defending myself against toxic teammates a while back. I now learned not to defend myself but to just let my team flame me all game and issue a report after. Thanks for the lesson Riot! Anyway I was banned after August 22nd, so therefor have no rewards. I read Riots statement regarding all season 7 rewards and they said if someone was banned before August 22nd, or after the season they still get to keep their rewards. But if you were one of those unlucky few who were banned between that time period, Riot thinks your the most garbage of them all and that you deserve nothing. So can someone, preferably a Riot employee tell me how it's fair that someone who may have been banned before August 22nd who was banned for insanely toxic behavior is still eligible for their rewards where as someone who was banned for trash talking trash talking teammates isn't? That just doesn't seem fair at all. Btw this is maybe my 3rd post and I've yet to have a Riot employee reply to this issue. Thank you.

How can people use term "defending myself"... How were u defending yourself? How were you in danger so you had to put defense up?

You're reaching if you think I meant I was physically defending myself. When my support gets ganked after i ping missing mid and him and his duo adc are going off on how im trash and i was probably boosted to plat and more, and I point out that blitz has yet to hit a hook all game so he can't put the blame for his lane on me, that's what I meant. If it makes you feel better I'll put retaliate back. Thank you for the reply.

past me didn't mute people. He retaliated, but now that I know it'll get me an instant 2 week ban instead of a chat restriction I just mute and tell them theyre so much better than me and compliment them. My probably isn't that I got banned, I accept that. The problem is I dont know why Riot thinks its fair to cut off rewards after August 22nd when im sure people before that were banned for way more severe reasons than I.

It has been this for quite some seasons. Reason is that riot thinks 3 months is about the time a player neeeds to reform, so if you get banned before 22nd of august you can still reform in this season, after 22nd not.

That is the dumbest reasoning I have ever heard lol. I mean immediately after my ban I just started muting the whole team before we started because I figured if I talk back it's just gonna get me in trouble anyway. It took me 10 minutes when I got back. I don't see how it's fair for incredibly toxic people in the beginning in the season who are probably still toxic still get their stuff when I got banned for quoting my teammate and trash talking back. Just because of the date difference I don't get my rewards because Riot has this dumb blanket assumption for the league player base. Also thank you for the reply.

If they are still toxic, they will likely be punished again during that three month period. If they got their rewards, it means they were not punished in that three month period, ergo, they were not toxic at a level enough to be punished.

So the people who learned from the 2 week ban after August 22nd don't deserve that second chance?

My understanding is it is Riot’s view that people who are banned after August 22 do not have ample time to show reform and improved behavior to show that they deserve rewards.

It's not your viewpoint ( at least I think its not ) but that is the dumbest reason. I wouldn't put it past them though. I just think it's incredibly unfair. I feel as if youre gonna not give them to some, might as well not give them to anyone who was banned. It's just highly unfair. Thanks for your response.

To be quite honest, I understand the reasoning behind it. The season rewards are a measure of your standing at exactly one point in time. It doesn't matter if you're Platinum all season - if at the end of the season you are only Gold 1, you will get gold rewards, even though you were platinum all season.

Likewise, if you were on your best behavior all season, but you messed up and couldn't get back on "good behavior" status by the end of the season, then you were on "bad" status and ineligible. But people who were banned earlier could get back to "good" status and re-earn their eligibility through not being punished again.

If that makes sense - I know some people disagree, but hopefully it makes a little more sense that way.

I understand where you're coming from. But you said "if you were on your best behavior all season, but you messed up and couldn't get back on "good behavior" status by the end of the season". Thats the thing man, people banned after August 22nd are literally not even getting a chance to prove themselves. It'd be nice if we were still given a 3 month grace period and even though the season ends if we weren't banned in those 3 months we can still get our rewards later. But they flat out say "You're done for, sorry not sorry". And it's honestly bull.

Likewise, it's the end of season behavior standing. There is no grace period, there is no leeway, if you are in "bad behavior" status at the end of the season (which anyone banned in the last 2-2.5 months of the season would be almost certainly), you do not get rewards.

Again, the rewards are a snapshot of your standing at one very specific moment in time. That's why there's no grace period, either for ranked standing or for behavior.

I am glad that we are able to have this discussion without insulting each other though :) It's kinda rare on the boards sometimes. Kudos to you for being able to keep it civil.

kudos to you as well. And I see where you're coming from. But this snapshot ends August 22nd, where as the rank snapshot ends Nov 7 with the season. I understand how you're trying to compare the two but you can't really compare. It's not like I was a saint all season then on Nov 7th I made someone have bad thoughts. I was banned before the season ended and received no opportunity to prove that I deserve my rewards where as people banned before August 22nd were allowed that courtesy. The snapshot equivalence would be you're plat 5 all season, August 22nd you dip into gold 1, log on August 23rd and get a message from Riot saying "Sorry, anything beyond this point wont matter, you're gold deal with it. By the way the season ends Nov 7 but keep playing ranked for fun anyway."

Also would like to give a huge thank you to Riot. Your playerbase has been more help with figuring this out than you have as I've yet to be contacted by a Riot employee. Keep up the good work.
