Don't know what to do. Some advice please.

I have been playing off and on for about 3 months. Level 20 something and really wanted to hit 30 by the time the new runes and such came out. I'm not bad but mainly play bot games so who knows. I can see I have a ways to go when a smurf comes in and rolls for 30+/X/X on a non meta champ in a 3v5. I will be completely honest in saying I still goof keys and miss click walking into the enemy while attacking. I'm old so a bit like Driving Miss Daisy here.. I thought I could keep playing some intermediate bot games to keep improving before I started messing up teammates solo Q.

2 games this morning I had 2/5 teammates that were just jungle scripting. Won the first game with the help of a smurf and lost the other with players under 18 trying to learn to play. They couldn't understand what was going on. Reported all 4 players but it just seems like there are 8 more taking their place? I mean two games in a row with two people scripting is a bit much. I can't learn anything but farming under tower while barely staying alive and hoping everyone will hold turrets. I actually feel pretty good about playing Heimer into Sivir and Amumu while holding turret and going 1/3/3 when we lost at 24 minutes.

I'm scared of playing solo Q at this point. It seems if I go into a game and suck, I can be banned? I have zero chance against some of the players I have seen smurfing in bot games. I can totally see either being at 10 deaths or not doing anything but staying alive. I have read the guides and started practicing csing just about every day. Went from 40's in 10 minutes to 70's on some champs. That doesn't help though when you have an intelligent player on the other side trading. So how do I get better from here and what are some suggestions? How do I go into games and not get banned by a group that thinks I am throwing the game? How do I get better with basic mechanics? Not really worried about chats as I am pretty good about muting and moving on.

Good news. If you are playing with the intent to win you won't be banned.

Onto other matters. It doesn't matter if an entire team or even game reports you. 1 report flags the game but if you haven't done anything wrong it will throw out the report.

Solo Q is mainly used to refer to ranked, you can't play ranked until 30. You can play blind and draft, it will be okay. Yes, some might flame you but if you are really trying like I said before, you will be fine.

As far as getting better at mechanics; practice and watch. Cliche, I know, but practicing is how you improve. Practice can include watching someone else playing for ideas. Practice Tool can help with champion mechanics.

You can never be banned for not playing well. That's the point of matchmaking. If you play poorly, your MMR will decrease, so the matchmaker will put you against worse players. Repeat until you start playing (comparatively) well. It's not the job of other players or the report system to tell you that you are struggling (and the latter is incapable of doing so), so don't worry about what they say or threaten.

Generally, the level of competition evens out immensely once you hit level 30. You'll be much less likely to run into hugely lopsided matches, smurfs, bots, scripters, etc.

As a recommendation, don't play ranked unless you feel comfortable with your own play in at least half of the game's positions. Normal matches (Blind or draft) have plenty of people playing, and they are (or at least should be) much less judgemental about play. Most people aren't toxic or trolls, but it can seem like it sometimes if you get frustrated. If that happens, I encourage stepping away from the game for a day or more.

And most importantly, if someone does start shit with you, just mute them, report them, and move on.

Sounds like you worrying about a lot. I would say just take a deep break and chill out a bit. Now.. I am sorry because Riot's system for new accounts is really bad so you are definitely going to have some tough games. But hey... we all do.

To be honest Riot bots are really bad so I wouldn't really take those games into consideration. I would start playing pvp as soon as you can and just try your best. Don't flame teammates, intentionally feed (like just running down mid) or go afk and you won't get in trouble. Eventually you will get better and and learn more but either way you need to play pvp to learn. Bots just won't help you that much compared to other people. Bots are so damn predictable it's really tragic.

Helpful tip. If anyone is being mean to you mute them. There are a couple ways to do it but what I do is just hit Tab and then go over to the right side of their name. There are different icons. One mutes the player's chat, one mute's pings, and one does.... well I forget lol. You can mute enemy team as well. Hell google it, there different ways to do chat than I know I just usually tab in game and mute who I want.

Reading guides is helpful but reality is you just need time played and experience right now. Eventually you will get better at the basics and can build off that. But right now being so new I think you still on a lot of the basics. So cut yourself some slack, jump into pvp and try to have some fun. Try to learn but realize you won't learn it all in a day, a week, a month. Shit's always changing so we all still always learning anyways.

But yea, mute the jerks, don't be a jerk, afk or, intentionally feed and you won't get in trouble and you will get better at the game and start having more fun playing it.

Appreciate ALL the replies. I worry a bit because there are 9 other people wanting to play and I realize that my play directly interacts with those people. Sorry about the lingo. I have pretty thick skin at my age and rarely type in chat unless its to point out an objective or threat that can't be pinged. This is by far the hardest game I have ever tackled between the minimap, farming, and not dying. So blind is what I should be playing until I am comfortable and past 30?

one of the valuable things this game teaches you is to not care what other people think.

you are going to get raged at. a lot. that is just a fact of the game. but after a while it stops bothering you. eventually it even becomes funny. you will start to enjoy it. you will seek it. soon you love it. you need it. you will do anything for it. and then finally you have become a troll and you wouldnt want to play any other way.
