ARAM Loading Suggestion

Hello,

I've just had two 4v5 ARAMs in a row and it happens way more often than it does in Summoners' Rift games. I think players have the attitude that because its random, they can test their internet connection or their computer using ARAM mode instead of rift and if they DC, its not a problem. But it is really not fun for the other 9 players in the game. My suggestion is that when players launch their first ARAM in every 24 hours or upon a recent login, or if Leaver Buster has flagged them DCing recently, a message pops up suggesting that if they are not confident in their internet connection they try out a Co-Op vs AI match instead. Currently starting a bots match is not very obvious in the match selection menu and stopping players and forcing them to think about bots being an option could reduce 4v5s in a PvP mode where the loss of a single player has more significance.

Additionally, I think that when ARAM players request a ranked ARAM mode, they want an ARAM queue for people who are there to try to win, not to test their connection or play a mode while drunk. This could partially solve that problem for ARAM players without having to resort to a separate queue.

Thanks for your time!

I honestly think there is a problem in ARAM that isn't present in most SR games - but not the one you identify:

I think this has to do with players thinking that they should leave instead of subject themselves to an ARAM with a poor matchup.

Really the only solution I think there is to this is to increase AFK/leaver penalties in ARAMs, but even that likely won't make this problem go away.

I highly doubt we'll ever see ranked ARAM as there are too many variables and it's hard for a player to display true skill when things are so random.

In many 4v5s (including the two I just had) players reconnect 15 mins later citing connection or computer issue but its too little too late and we lose anyway. Or they alt click their ping several times showing its at 500+ before DCing and RCing all game but doing nothing. If a comp is so bad a person would DC from the game due to a bad matchup, the person would usually dodge queue instead. Increasing Leaver Buster penalties for ARAM queue could help a lot if players are notified of it. As the system is now, it incentivizes ARAM as the "Test My System" queue so that could provide a counter incentive for players to rethink that. I agree that ranked ARAM is neither likely nor practical, changing the system might reduce some of that demand.

Actually there's a bug going on right now with butcher's bridge where people aren't able to connect under some specific circumstances.

You can see Riot Afic in the reds tracker trying to track down the root cause of this.
