Why did Riot ban my friend for asking in chat to have someone reported?
They were stating racial and homophobic slurs, and my friend called him out for it.
Is there anyway to get his account revoked? It seems kind of unfair especially without a warning.
Saying your report someone in a match is harassing the player which would be toxic. You can just report the player after the match and not have to say anything.
If they received a permanent ban, they definitely had a warning, more than one in-fact assuming their behavior wasn't so incredibly toxic that it warranted an instant permanent ban. It is possible to skip to a Two Week or Permanent suspension based on the severity of the behavior in the game. There are different tiers of punishments, and they generally follow this path:
If they had a prior two week suspension, any further violations that warrant punishment will result in a permanent suspension, no matter how minor the violation is. Sounds to me like they did more than simply asking a teammate to report someone though.
Maybe you could ask them to make a post on the boards themselves and include their chat logs? We could help get to the bottom of this and see if it was really warranted or a mistake.
the rule is you can't ask for reports because people ask for reports over stupid shit constantly, every player is supposed to report every other player for everything cause league of legends is soviet russia
also wrongthink is not permitted and you will be banned for singed support
Have your friend come on the forums and post the chat log. Riot doesn't actually punish for asking for reports IF that is the only thing they said that could be construed as negative. If it's bundled with flaming and harassing and what not... then they're going to get punished for jumping off the asking for the report and flaming and harassing.
