Does reporting work?

I've encountered so many toxic players on both the enemy and my team and I just know that nothing will happen to them. I just played a ranked game with the most positive player ive met. He played Ekko and wanted to keep trying for a win. So our Jhin decides to run it down for the next 10 or so minutes. He actually refused to do anything because he was feeding and we were getting stomped but we wanted to keep trying. Jhin just ints the rest of the game. I ask for the enemy team to report him and the enemy Evelynn doesnt want to because "you all were getting stomped" and "unlucky". Really? I cant even get the enemy team to report a inter because they are being actual asshole because they won. I swear reports dont do anything anymore

After seeing a guy telling me to kill my mother repeatedly not getting anything, I have concerns myself.

Depends. If you report for flaming it works too much, if you report for hard inting it kinda works (should be the case with running down mid), if you report for soft inting/trolling that's totally useless and nothing happens.

with the toxic immature player base of league, if you ask for somebody to get reported for trolling/inting/being toxic, theres a bigger chance you'll get punished over them just for responding, league players are the worst of any game community i've ever seen in my life, and riot games by far the worst game company

I've actually gotten instant feedback about reports I've put in. Mostly, it's only if they were using "hate speech". Those seem to get looked at every time. However, I've had people say some of the most horrendous shit in-game and when I report them, I get nothing. I've started telling people in-game that if they continue with that kind of talk, I will report them. Sometimes it stops them. Other times, it enrages them and they get even worse. I report them. They've been warned.

Rarely, if ever, has an enemy team reported someone when we've asked them to. If my team is asked to report somebody on the other team, I ask why. If it's a good and valid reason, I'll do it. Inting would definitely be one of the reasons I'd report for the other team. I've seen people say flat out in all chat that they're going to int and proceed to do it. I report them. It ruins the game.

And before anybody brings up the chat mute function, most of the time I play, I'm playing with my teenage daughter. When she's being sexually harassed, which has happened, or being told that somebody hopes her mother gets raped and murdered, I need to see that so I can report it.

Yes it does. But a common mistake that many player make is just checking boxes at the end of the game and then hitting the submit button. You have to give the person reviewing the file something to go on. Fill in the comment section - let them know what the offence is. Multiple reports on one player get flagged and looked at.

That being said, there is a warning. If you are a person who does lots and lots of reports, then be prepared to have your report rating reduced. Each person has a report rating. And the people who cry wolf too often end up having their ratings reduced.
