How do you handle complete shitters?

I am tired of losing the game because the mid laner decides I'm gonna keep trying to 1v1 this person I already died to 3 times. I understand everyone has bad games but I'm in silver trying to climb. It's complete chaos. I understand I am a toxic player but I don't think you realize the stuff I've put up with in this past week alone. I had to dodge 12 Games on 2 different accounts. Teemo supps, Ali mids, Garen supp, Ryze support. Full ADC teams, 4 man teams all bringing smite. It's fucking stupid. Then when I am in a game the people don't know what to do. I know I am complete shit at the game. But its hard to focus on your mistakes at adc when your 2/0 20 cs above your lane then you get dove by the 9/0 akali and 1 shot. I just wanna know how the high elo players get passed this. Cause I'm about to get a 2nd account permad. Edit: I also know I am toxic. I was made this way. But I wanna reform. I am tired of losing because of others tho.

Champions, Meta, and Allies have much less to do with YOUR ability to climb than you would think.

What climbing the rank ladder means is that you are BETTER than where you are. If you plateau and don't go any where or go back down this means you are not better than where you are and you need to make improvements to your play in order to carry your games.

Ranked truly is the measure of your ability to carry players that are worse than you. You CAN be better than players in your ELO but if you aren't able to carry them to a win what good are you really. What you need to do is get in the habit of finding what you could be doing better in every game. If you mid laner is feeding how can you stop that hemorrhaging gold? Can you make up for that gold deficit in some other way? etc.

In the end the 1 constant in every single game is you and it is the only thing you can control in your games so dwelling on anything else is unproductive.

Ok story time. I have 3 friends in low bronze and a friend in plat with me. Over this season they constantly complained of their allies being the reason they lost their games. Whilst me and my plat friend are constantly telling them if you can carry your bronze games you shouldn't be winning games. Where then 1 of them says that "You have never been in bronze you don't know how hard it is if you were bronze 5 it would take you for ever to get out." And then ofcourse knowing that would be an easy feat I bet him I could reach gold 5 in a week. He takes me up on the bet. So me and my plat friend get on our level 24 and 26 smurf get them to 30 in a few days and then tank our provisionals together and get bronze 5. From here it was decided we were not allowed to duo (which was fair and I was fine with). Both of us a mid/jungle main and a support main both make it to gold 5 in 5 and 6 days respectively (each in under 150 games and our bronze friends have spent 500+ games in bronze over the season).

With this we proved to our friends that if you are BETTER than where you are you WILL climb. If you aren't climbing then you are exactly where you need to be.

Climbing the ranked ladder begins and ends with YOU as a player. So ignore everyone else and focus on your own gameplay because that is what really matters.

You cannot. You just bend over and take that loss :)

Whenever I jump into a game, I just basically always assume my team is playing with one hand (me myself the worst of em), and the enemy are all faker-reborn-into-demi-gods.

That way, I am never disappointed by bad plays (because I have been expecting them already), always pleasantly surprised by good plays (and able to compliment it in chat). And more importantly: with every play, every engage, I make sure to have an exit-plan. Because I do not expect my allies to do well, I make sure I know how to disengage and take as many of my teammates alive with me. Too often I see players go full yolo because in their heads they are gods, and get angry when their *insert pro player here* play fails miserably.

Assume your allies suck. Assume you are the worst of them all. Then you can never be surprised.

You're in a better position with the midlaner feeding than someone in the bot lane who is ruining another players chances to carry, and giving the enemy kills and assists. I'm a support main, and as long as my ADC can attack a CC'd target, there's a chance.

First of all, never stop. Keep going through the worst of it. I'm aggressive in chat, but never toxic. insulting people never helps. I explain why they should be doing what I'm telling them. Is it obnoxious? Sure. But saying "Why go into the jungle? It's bait, and there's no objectives in the jungle" is better than "fucking kill yourself"

The other thing I'd mention is, if you're in ranked, you do not get to play what you'd like. You choose a champion on three criteria:

  1. They aren't banned or chosen by another player
  2. You have a rank 4 mastery on that champion, enjoy playing them, and are good with them
  3. That champion has the ability to carry.

Admittedly, ADC is tough since you're dependent on a role people hate, and you suck in the laning phase.

if I were you I'd find 3 ADC champs in the Top 10 and I'd just keep going. You want champs with a high skill floor and the safest option.

I find ADCs have a vision in their head of how the game should go. And with every deviation from that vision, they get more and more tilted. Break the cycle. Choose winners.

It's really not possible to carry certain people, I've had games with KDA's in the 20's and 30's and not been able to carry my team cause they refuse to do anything but feed. It used to be a lot easier but this season has been worse than ever.

Just queue back up and hope for the best.

I don't really consider myself "high elo" but I'd say most of what you're experiencing fades when you go into Gold or higher divisions.

It took me a long time to realize it myself, but when I actually started to make real progress with League, making myself better at the game, there were two major parts (which also answer your question).

  1. Don't be dicks to people. I'm not saying you are a dick, and I know it's hard, but if someone's not playing well on your team, or downright IS trolling, insulting and flaming them will only make it worse. I've actually sometimes convinced them not to by being nice. Sometimes people have bad days, and sometimes people just downright suck at the game. But wasting your time by insulting them and arguing back and forth is only causing you to be more behind than you realize. If you've ever watched any ex-LCS players or super high elo streamers, they almost never say anything in chat, and that's because they're focused on themselves.

  2. Have the realization that you suck. The first step to getting better at league is admitting that you're personally shit at it. Once you do that (you already have), identify where you're lacking, do some studying, and practice. This makes video games sound more like homework, but if you want to get better, that's how you do it. What I personally did is after each game I'd evaluate the role I played, how my champion contributed to the team and fights, and the mistakes I'd made, as well as areas I could improve on. A lot of LoL players suck at LoL because they never move past this step and think they're a god when they're bronze-tier. I'm mid-gold and I know I'm still trash at the game, especially compared to diamond+ players.

Once you do both of these things, you'll eventually climb the ranks out of bronze/silver and into gold. My experience playing with Gold players and above has been MUCH more enjoyable. Sure, there's still trolls on occasion, but I would say compared to when I was in bronze or silver, it's still practically night and day.

So yeah. That's how I dealt with the shitters. RISE ABOVE THEM. Don't give into the shit-flinging fights that people like to start. Realize that it's just a game and you don't need to physically stress yourself out. It's hard, but definitely possible with some patience and practice.

Um play something that can maybe carry if the other team is just as bad a (RTD) roll the dice?

grug10/15/2016, 12:27:12 PM1 votes

my friend

you must embrace the chaos

become one with the chaos and just maybe, you will rise above it.

Don't let them bully you around with these tactics.

and also realise that this seasons victorious skin is maokai -L0L

Keep an open mind for off-meta picks.

Mid / Top Alistar was one of the picks that ruled all over top ELO in the first part of season 6 (due to Thunderlords being OP at that time), but you would have never seen it top if you weren't open minded to it.

Teemo support isn't that bad, teemo prevents any retaliation trades in lane.

Ryze support isn't bad as well if you know how to use the combos.

Eitherway, in the silver ELO, gameplay knowledge is farrrrr superior than OP / FOTM picks. I could be using Urgot ADC (shit ADC in alot of people's eyes, but I beg to differ) in a 2v1 situation, freezing under the turret and if you don't know how to break the freeze then your OP Caitlyn / Jinx doesn't mean anything.
