can you get ban for false reports?
i hope riot is smart and dos not have it to ware you can get ban for player haters and just have a hole group of people ban someone just for hell of it because they think its funny

you will not get banned or punished if you are doing nothing wrong. the tribunal actually looks into games. even if it's a group report. as long as you did nothing wrong you'll be fine and the reports of ppl who false reported you will be less valued in the future.

I played in bronze and silver last season, so basically what riot is saying, is that my reports worth ZERO, because every other game is full of multiple trolls. Many of which are not obvious as running down middle lane screaming profanities.
by reporting EVERY TROLL you are screwing your chances, IN MY VIEW BASED ON WHAT RIOT SAYS, of your reports having ANY EFFECT. So it's a better strategy IMHO to be more selective in who what and when you report people.
Did they use a profanity, will person "looking into it" see that it was a troll in the 10-20 seconds they have per report, or whatever the number is... if it's not obvious anyone outside the game, don't waste your time reporting in my view.
