Banned? Really?

While you are reading this keep in mind most of the swearing isn't directed at anyone, mostly me being frustrated with how things went down in the bot lane. We went behind early and i asked my jungler to gank so we could stabilize and see out the rest of the laning phase. I don't think I was toxic in my way of doing this, yes I typed a lot but I don't think that equates to toxicity. I'm really sick of this chat ban system where if I do even the slightest thing i can get punished for it. This is a very polite chat dialogue compared to other things I've been witness to on this game, I think this is a bit much to get a 14-day ban for this.

I know people will come with the argument that if i had previous infractions this ban is justified. I think that argument to be lazy, Whether or not there was previous infractions should not have any bearing on FUTURE punishments, keep in mind that i served time on the previous punishments and they shouldn't have a hand in further hindering me in terms of bans. Also, some people will say that what I said was extremely toxic, I beg to differ although I will concede that it is not the most polite way to go about talking with my team. I think that the chat ban system is extremely overpowered in the sense that bans and punishments are given out on the basis of certain words being said? This game is rated T for teen right? I'm sure the players can tolerate some vulgar language from time to time. I think this is bs for me to get banned for this when i didn't really flame anybody or try to tilt my team I just wanted help from the jungle to try and salvage my lane. This chat ban system needs to be reviewed, i put hard earned money into this game and a few missteps wastes my time and my money.

Let's compare another system of rules, aka the law. Bear in mind, I am using this solely as an analogy. I am not comparing the two infractions, as they are completely different in substance. But, given they are both a form of rules, with punishments for breaking them, they can be compared as such.

Specifically, let's discuss speeding in a motor vehicle. If you repeatedly break this rule, you will be given increasingly severe punishments. While the first one may be simple punishment (a fine) or even possibly a warning, if you continue to break this rule, more severe punishments will be issued. This is just one example of a punishments of increasing severity fore repeat offenders.

Riot has taken a similar stance with its punishments for chat related (mis)behavior.

Yes. If you don't accept this, write a Riot Support Ticket, but I don't think that anything will happen, as you were extremly toxic this game.

Hmm, well, I can't honestly call these chat logs "positive," but I certainly wouldn't call them extremely toxic. Honestly, I would have to agree with you when you say in the logs that you weren't flaming. There's some things that come across as a bit passive-aggressive, some that just seem a tad whiny, but in general I probably wouldn't have reported you for this. I probably would have muted you for so much typing, but there's nothing wrong with typing, as long as it's not getting you killed, or causing you to miss teamfights and objectives.

ƒeínt: shoulda just backed ƒeínt: wth u doing ƒeínt: couldn't dodge that stun bro?

This part gets a tad questionable, since it starts off with a neutral enough statement, but then dips into nitpicking about what someone did wrong. But you didn't harp on it, and you didn't insult the person with it, so even if you said it to me in a match I would probably overlook it. I might grumble a bit to myself, or be annoyed at the Captain Obvious, but it's not flaming, and it's not all that rude.

ƒeínt: yooo we need gank ƒeínt: ezreal chunks me to half hp ƒeínt: udyr come pls ƒeínt: udyr please gank bot bro ƒeínt: you didnt come ƒeínt: at all ƒeínt: its not ƒeínt: he could have helped though ƒeínt: i asked the jg to help so we didnt get snowballed so hard ƒeínt: not blaming udyr, i never blamed, i just wanted help ƒeínt: i'm not flaming you... ƒeínt: and we got no help but it's fine

I lumped all of the begging for ganks together, just to show how much of it there is. I have to agree with you, you aren't flaming him. It's whiny, and would be annoying to listen to as a teammate, but you're not saying that it's Udyr's fault. You make a point of saying that you personally misplayed things, which I respect.

ƒeínt: could just afk ƒeínt: i have somewhere to be soon anyway ƒeínt: or i can stay and turn this around if you stop flaming

Threatening to afk is never a good thing. Even if you're only saying it to make a point, it's going to piss off your teammates. This is the first of the things that is getting to be a little bit over the line. Since it's going to cause dissension in the team no matter what the outcome is.

ƒeínt: judging by a 52 wr you have

There's no need to bring someone's win rate into the match. It doesn't do any good as far as helping your team win the match, unless you're using it to say "have faith in him guys, this guy has a 52% win rate," which doesn't seem to be the case here. If you want to brag about your own win rate, that's one thing. You've got that right. But to start talking about someone else's, especially in the context of comparing it to yours implying how much lower it is, that's insulting to your teammates. And it's going to piss them off.

ƒeínt: dude enjoy the chat ban rofl ƒeínt: and the L ƒeínt: no chat ban?

I swear, there seems to be some kind of karma attached to this phrase. It's never a good idea to taunt people with a punishment. While you have the ability to report them, you as a player do not have the ability to level a punishment upon them. Only the IFS and Riot can do that. Threatening a player with a punishment is the height of irony.

But, all of these things aside, the biggest determinant is most likely the thing that you consider to be the "lazy" argument: whether or not you have had a recent chat restriction. If you were recently given a chat restriction, and have not played enough games demonstrating positive behavior, then your account is still held in a negative behavior status. Any further rule breaking that happens while your account is in that negative status demonstrates a progression of toxicity, rather than a progression of reform, and will lead to the account being raised to the next punishment tier. If you had a 25 game chat restriction some time in the last 3 months, then that is likely where this came from. If you have not, then you might want to submit a ticket to Player Support asking why your punishment was escalated.

Something to keep in mind, now that you are at the 14 day suspension level... your next punishment is a permaban of the account. And it does not take extreme toxicity to earn a permaban. Any further rule-breaking, any sort of toxicity that is reported before you account has a chance to work itself back into a positive status will bump you to a permaban. This can mean even logs from games like this one! You should be very careful to be on your best behavior in the future, and if you are worried about it, you can always mute all at the beginning of every match.

Join the club . System is shit ... At this point I hope this game literally dies off . Which it will in the future .. slowly but surely x3

Zombie Gerbil1/6/2018, 11:57:33 PM2 votes

Dude, how did you not mute them as soon as they started flaming you? You kept responding and typing to the negativity rather than just playing the game. Don't use the excuse "Because I needed to see them communicate" or "You get banned for not communicating" because that's just flat out false. Stop typing to them, mute them, play the game, and report them. That's all. No buts, no nothing. Just do it.

The automated reporting system can't take context into account. It judged you toxic on the basis of your words alone. Apparently, at least one of the players in your game considered you to be offensive, and the system agreed.

I know people will come with the argument that if i had previous infractions this ban is justified.

That's not the players' policy. That's Riot's policy. Riot has an escalating punishment system. That's how it works here. You play their game, you have to work within their rules. There's nothing wrong with criticizing their rules and suggesting changes of course, but the forumites here are only pointing out the rules to you.

You threatened to afk because someone didn't gank?

Wow this doesn't seem deserved at all.
