seems like these kids throw my game when i say that i muted them so i cant hear them at all or see their pings. I thought muting them is the option to go to but they try even harder to get my attention. do you mute them or not? [sg-lux-2]

Lol People who publicly announce they muted someone are no better than your typical toxic asshats.

Why would you tell them youre muting? Why not just mute? Try to take all ego out of it and just mute. You dont need to announce that youre ignoring someone, unless youre trying to send a message. So maybe they just feel offended by that message youre sending. Just mute, dont announce it. I know when I mute someone, I like to tell them theyre muted just to let em know I'm above them. Luckily, its pretty rare that I feel the need to mute someone, and even more rare for them to troll because of it.

Muting them is the option.

Telling them you're muting them is fanning the flames. You don't need to tell some jackwad that you muted them. When you use chat in League, stop briefly and think to yourself, "Will saying this get me closer to a win?" Telling someone you muted them will only get you further from a win.

Basically you have to treat every single player as a childish man-baby who is starved for attention and thinks the world revolves around them. When they find out they are denied that attention, they'll get angry since you aren't revolving around them "any longer".

Just mute and report, you don't have to mention it. And if they troll because you're ignoring them, report them for that too.

I suggest learning the difference between muting someone - which you don't seem to actually do, judging by the fact that you still see their attempts to get your attention - and telling someone that you've muted them.

you aren't giving them attention anymore so there is generally hostility when they are tilted or otherwise.
