This community is full of trash

Just as an example:

Was playing a game earlier this morning and get queued with someone who tells me he "hopes my dad dies", so I don't want to play video games online with him anymore and leave game and get LeaverBuster and 20 minute queue time for that?

Bye riot, it's now clear that LeaverBuster is a robot and you won't even get someone to read chat logs to figure out why a person would afk out of a game... This is just one example, but the density of the toxic trash that take this game and their ranking too seriously and will harass their team at the slightest mistake has become unrealistic in number.

And to those of you who read this and all you can think is "There's a mute button", think about it this way. If There's a loaded gun on a table in a room where you don't like someone, do you have to shoot that person? This is a team game where communication is key, this is why I would not recommend this game to anyone, because it's full of awful people who you would be required to mute just to finish the game. And there doesn't seem to be anyone moderating to a degree of usefulness.

You still made the game an even worse experience for the other 3 people still in that game. Leaverbuster doesn't apply after only one occurance, you have to do t several times.

And besides that (going to my first point): you still broke the rules. Do you somehow think that because you got harassed it puts you above the law?

Yes, there is a mute button. Also, there is a report button.. And a text box where you may type details as to why you pressed the report button.

its the internet. grow up, mute, report, move on. or dont go on the internet at all.

Leaverbuster is there to catch people who afk. You ruined the game more for your other teammates by leaving. Better course of action would be to mute and report that person. Then you wouldn't have gotten punished and you would have helped catch the offender.

Man does this point out how entitled people can be in this community.

Look, if you leave the game, it's in the rules; you're going to get picked up by the Leaver Buster, and you just ruined your team's odds of winning. You think that annoying asshole who wished your family members ill, or said something crude was bad? They can ignore him and play the game. You ruined their game by making their chances so slim 4v5, I wouldn't blame them if they surrendered at 20.

And what's this shit about reading chat logs because someone hurt your feelings and you don't want to play the game? You think Riot has enough employees for this shit? You think any company has the resources to open up a "butthurt afk player" department to investigate people picked up by the Leaver Buster? Wow. This game is free, and, yeah, it sucks that there are so many toxic players. Hell, it sucks that there are so many players that ruin your ranked games by doing some shit like full AD Garen bruiser top or whatever off-meta shit they think actually works these days. But it's part of this game, and you're the one breaking the rules to a more severe degree. It's easy as shit to get someone suspended for being toxic or chat restricting them. There's a report button at the end of the game after you hit the mute button. There's no excuse for leaving the game other than an emergency or poor planning, and I see neither of these being a problem in this scenario.

If you want to leave, fine, I don't want some easily offended child ruining my ranked games because he afk'd when his feelings were hurt.

It's been like that for a while, nothing new.

So what if they read it? Nothing legally justifies your action. We sympathize with you, and we agree what you did was morally justified, but the action itself is against the rules no matter the cause, reason, or circumstance, and understanding what happened does nothing productive.

Yes, someone went out of his way to break the rules to harass you, but that doesn't mean you can break the rules in however way you deem fit in response. Sure, riot's leniency allows ppl like that to stick around and cause undeserved sufferings, but just because you can't rely on riot to provide a blissful gaming experience doesn't mean you can disregard their rules in order to earn some comfort. I'd say if you can no longer bear with this community, just find a different game.

You say "the League community is trash" to the League community...

Drehirth4/22/2016, 5:14:56 PM1 votes

Your analogy is what's trash. Muting someone isn't the same as shooting them

Of course it is. Riot has to mix trolls with people doing their best or else you would be where u belonged playing fun games and it would be trolls v trolls in the bronze silver clownfest. After a month of nothing but 5 v 5 troll games where they are in a race to see who can throw/intentionally feed the hardest the trolls would stop caring and stop playing this game. RIOT would lose their business!?!? And THAT is the only thing Riot cares about.
