Logic behind Fail to lock in pick/ban = dodge???

Why, if I have selected my preferred champion and also my preferred ban, am I forced to click on the "Lock In" button twice? Can someone explain this to me so that I understand why it is in place, because the way it is now, it seems to me useless sadistic nonsense. I believe that if the player has made two concious decisions to click and select two different champions there should be no penalty

It's to make sure that people aren't going AFK during champion select.

To weed out those assholes who tab out in champ select or like to waste everyone's time and wait til 0 to lock in

Yeah, I've had to come to terms with Riot doing this and do what they say. Here's some help.

I see many people saying that it's to stop afk. I don't actually agree.

It's an attempt to make people more attentive during champ select in general. Champ select would be over MUCH faster if people locked in their choices when it was their turn. You should either be: -locking in quickly OR -paying attention and changing your choices based on other picks

If you aren't doing either of those things, you are making the system slower for no reason. I have no problem with Riot doing something about that; in fact, it's quite literally their job.

Wow i mean damn I cant go pee or get a snack while I wait on people to select their champs? At least make there be no loss of LP penalty I would say thats extremely harsh for the smallest of things
