BAN SYSTEM

I got a 14 day suspension and honestly I have to know how the ban system works. If it is just based of the reports you receive per match I cant accept this suspension but I do accept that I use inappropriate language I use it lightly and I usually use this words to describe actions objects or champions, I dont even write complete words I use things like sht fkn or bs, I once said i had a bs team but in a server like this with daily afk players and I cant see a reason for me getting banned while other players literally call me r%%%%%ed and even worse words that they completely write while I abbreviate them and dont use them to attack a player directly.

It is honestly a bad region with low quality game play since every match looks more like a coin flip than a ranked ladder. And bad language has always been a thing but treating a community like little babies who cant stand anything outside of their little cage wont do anything to improve the game. We have seen competitive games like CSGO flourish without any need of restricting language and it honestly just makes the game better and way funnier. If there are players who cant stand this there should be an option that lets the player choose whether he or she wants to see loud words or not. (there is also a mute button for a reason and tbh its a game with no voice chat so it should not be a bigger problem but NA in and outside of a game has just become an overprotective hypocrite childish and touchy society which supports people acting as if everything meant the end of the world)

If you read everything I wrote I thank you for taking the time to do it no matter if you agree or disagree with my opinion but I dont consider fair that me using soft offensive language mostly against objects or actions and in one chance calling "bs" a team is as bad or worse than being directly offensive to the player and being called r%%%%%ed in addition to other offensive words. I can accept my 14 day suspension knowing I didnt make any good but still I cant accept how unfair this system is and how poor of a community we have built. I would appreciate having an examination of the two chat logs that got me banned for 14 days with a rioter or anyone who can help me make a better revision of my case. Thank you!

In general, the system punishes based on consistency x severity, meaning you can be punished for 1 game of extreme toxicity or many many games of mild toxicity.

Think of the behavioral like a health bar (or tension meter) in music games. When you hit the note at an off beat, your tension meter increases. When you completely miss a note, the meter increases by alot. When you hit the note at good timings, it reduces the meter.

Riot's behavior system works the same way, as in we all have a toxicity meter attached to our accounts. When players are mildly toxic, it goes up a tad. When people use hate speech, it pretty much fills up the meter. of course, clean games reduce the meter.

1 report does the same thing as 9 reports. All a report does is to flag the system to review the game. The toxicity score returned from the review will be the same regardless of how many times a player was reported within the same game. It is also possible for the system to return a toxicity score of 0 if there was no toxicity found within the game.

It is possible for playerA to get punished and playerB not to, even though playerB was waaayyyyy more toxic . Let's say playerA started the game with the toxicity meter at 95% and playerB's at 35%. Ingame, playerB said some pretty nasty shit and playerA responds with some minor shit. After the game, playerA gains 10% toxicity and playerB gains 50%. Now playerA is at 105% toxicity and gets punished, whereas playerB is at 85%, and not punished in that specific game, even though playerB was found to be 5x more toxic than playerA in that game.

Remember that this is an escalating punishment system, meaning every time you get punished you'll move up a punishment tier. This punishment ladder has 4 tiers;

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14-day ban
  4. Permaban

So for you to get 14-day banned for this, you've probably had a 25 game chat restriction.

You can drop punishment tiers by playing clean games. For a player with average play time, it takes around 3 months to drop a punishment tier.

In your game, you displayed a pretty negative and defeatist attitude. All those other games you had with similar attitudes added up and eventually got you punished.

I'm also guessing that your mid/late game macro decisions can use some improvement. People might be good at laning because it is predictable, but so many people auck at the macro side of the mid game plays, it's pretty easy to make a come back.

When you give up so early, you aren't getting the problem solving practice for the mid game macros. Which means you aren't improving, so you end up being stuck around certain ranks.

All in all, if you want to play clean games, stop blaming your team mates and stop giving up so early. Instead ask yourself (or you can look up guides and coaching videos) how to out macro the enemy team to cover for your teammate's losses.

If it is just based of the reports you receive per match I cant accept this suspension...

It isn't. Reports only flag a match for review, and they do nothing beyond that. The review system doesn't take into account how many reports were filed in a given match, either; meaning that the only thing that matters in regards to whether or not you'll be punished is the content of your chat logs (or your behavior otherwise, if it's not a chat-related penalty.)

Additionally, more reports have no greater impact than a single report. The IFS basically only checks to see whether there is more than 0 reports filed, and if there is, it starts the review process.

...but I do accept that I use inappropriate language I use it lightly and I usually use this words to describe actions objects or champions, I dont even write complete words I use things like sht fkn or bs, I once said i had a bs team but in a server like this with daily afk players and I cant see a reason for me getting banned while other players literally call me r%%%%%ed and even worse words that they completely write while I abbreviate them and dont use them to attack a player directly.

Let's break this down a bit;

  1. Other people's behavior has no bearing on whether or not you will be punished for breaking the rules. Other people behaving worse or more plainly or what have you will not change that breaking the rules will result in punishment.
  2. Abbreviating, initializing, or otherwise cutting words down does not fundamentally change things. The IFS doesn't have any difficulty reading typoes (intentional or otherwise), poor syntax, or poor grammar. "sht" is "shit", "fck" or "fkn" is "fuck"/"fucking", and "bs" is "bullshit". The IFS can read slang, jargon, and so on without issue, and misspelling or breaking up your words won't change the use of them.
  3. Attacking players in general (calling your team BS) is much the same as attacking players directly. There's little difference between calling your Vayne an asshole or calling your entire team assholes.

And bad language has always been a thing but treating a community like little babies who cant stand anything outside of their little cage wont do anything to improve the game.

Except, Riot doesn't treat the community like babies. They treat the community like adults and expect them to show each other a modicum of decency and respect. The only reason they'd treat players like children is if the player in question started acting like a child; I.E, if someone starts throwing a fit and flaming and harassing everyone, they get a time-out from using the chat.

As the old saying goes; "treat others like you want to be treated".

We have seen competitive games like CSGO flourish without any need of restricting language and it honestly just makes the game better and way funnier.

Well, for one, League isn't CS:GO. It's League. Different house, different rules - you can argue the efficacy of lax behavioral rules all you want, but at the end of the day, you do have to respect the rules.

Second, I don't think mindless vitriol, flaming, and harassment makes games more fun. They make it worse. And believe you me, I'm no stranger to online multiplayer. I've played Call of Duty, I've played Halo, and hell, I've even dealt with ample toxicity in World of Warcraft, and in none of those cases was the game made any better because someone was an asshole.

If there are players who cant stand this there should be an option that lets the player choose whether he or she wants to see loud words or not.

"Loud words" - are you trying to make this about swearing? Swearing isn't against the rules. You can say "damn", "shit", "fuck", etc. as much as you want within reason.

The issue is behavior. Flaming, harassing, and being an overall dick to others. And the responsibility shouldn't be on others to choose whether they want to avoid toxicity (good luck making such a feature work), it should be on you to behave according to the rules and show others some basic respect.

(there is also a mute button for a reason...

And that reason isn't to permit rulebreaking and toxicity. It's to mitigate the short-term damage that toxicity causes in the context of a given match.

The mute feature's existence isn't an excuse to break the rules.

...and tbh its a game with no voice chat so it should not be a bigger problem...

That's hardly a valid argument. Just because the game doesn't have open VC (which, by the way, there is voice chat, but it's limited to premade groups) doesn't mean that the text chat should be a lawless cesspit for people to waste their time fighting each other instead of playing the game.

If you want to flame and harass other people through text, find another game. 'Cause you agreed to League of Legends' rules, and those rules pretty explicitly state that you're not allowed to flame and harass others.

Now, I was going to go through your logs and pick out the behavior that resulted in your punishment to highlight what went wrong, but...Honestly, looking through Game 1, it'd be easier for me to pick out the lines that didn't result in punishment.

MechanicalStoner: can i take mid MechanicalStoner: against ornn

MechanicalStoner: we can win

MechanicalStoner: 2

...That's it. Those are the only four lines in your first game's chat log that weren't inflammatory, harassing, or obsessively negative. You spent the entire game harassing your team, arguing about how badly they fucked you over, and dropping an early "GG" at nearly every opportunity. You expressed obsessive defeatism, complained openly about your hate for the region, and just wasted so much time typing.

With that in mind, these snippets from your post;

...that me using soft offensive language mostly against objects or actions and in one chance calling "bs" a team...

Are just bold-faced lies. You weren't using "soft offensive language (against) objects or actions", you were flaming your team. 71 lines of chat, and only four of them weren't dedicated to harassing your team, spreading negativity and defeatism, or otherwise making broad-strokes insults against an entire region.

I'm going to be blunt; the golden rule of "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all" applies quadruply so here. You waste so much time being negative and flaming your teammates, I really can only suggest for you to disable allied chat as your best recourse.

As it says in the reform card, this 14-day suspension is your last warning, and any further misbehavior will result in the permanent suspension of your account. So don't make excuses, don't point fingers at others, take a good, honest look at your behavior, and for your own sake if nobody else's, stop flooding the chat with negativity.

My only other advice is that, if the NA region is so awful, then don't play in it. Nobody's forcing you, after all.

Yeah, you cant play the blame game in chat. Thats childish bullshit. I wouldve reported you and whoever was flaming you cuz that shit is annoying af and ruins any chances of a comeback. Im glad Riot caters to adults who are using their free time to play their game. I know raging in chat is probably normal to you, but to adults, its like listening to children scream in the other room about their toy being stolen or someone not playing fair. Its pathetic and annoying to most people, not just adults. This is a video game. Log on to play it. Go to twitter if you wanna piss and moan about shit to anonymous strangers... or come here or reddit or whatever, since this board is going away soon.
