Sexual Harassment from Players

If I'm being sexually harassed by a player persistently, will submitting a report via a ticket do anything? Mild comments and stuff don't bother me that much because I'm used to it, but a guy just spent 30 min telling me how he all the things he would do to my feet and the standard report doesn't even ban for sexist comments much less stuff like that because he said no dirty words or anything.

I know I can mute, but I mean, I don't think he should still be allowed to do that.

Submitting a report has the potential to bring attention to a behavioral issue and prompt a punishment. Whether it actually happens or not is a coin toss, though.

If this happened in a game, yes, it is reportable, under hate speech (if he was saying bad things about people of a specific gender) or harassment (if he was specifically targeting you for inappropriate chat messages that you didn't like) or both (if you feel the two were related).

As you say, it doesn't at all excuse this kind of behavior, but you can indeed mute it, and I would definitely recommend doing so if someone's chat messages are bothering you. Mute early, not late.

I'm honestly concerned on what he would do to your feet... Would he make you walk on lego? Or Would he make you walk on burning ashes?

Ah...too soon?

Not being rude but you might want a name change. I got tons of people asking to "e-date" among other disturbing things until I got fed up and made a new account. The community acts like they've never made contact with a female in their life (which, considering the high number of 13-year-olds, might not be too far off the truth.)

well... a ticket is such a weird thing you know. in my 9 years of league i made over 50 tickets about a guy spamming kys in a chatroom (yeah, these things that existed before clans) and he never got any punishement, he still plays to this day. so my opinion of tickets = they are totally fucking useless.

but for whatever reason about ~ 1 year ago the boards started to say to submit tickets again. i dont know why, so far i saw ONE thread of someone being able to show that his ticket did something. so imo they are useless. but the majority of the board keeps saying they arent useless.

in the end its not even 5min of work so decide for yourself.

Harassment is reportable and if you get his SN you can send a support ticket. I also agree with what the other person said mute early if something someone is saying is making you uncomfortable. There is bming and just shit talking but once it gets to a point tell them to stop if they dont mute. Its what I do when people start to get toxic or out of line with what they are saying.

How can anybody talk to you for 30mins if you mute them after the first? O.o

I know I can mute, but I mean, I don't think he should still be allowed to do that.

Well, you obviously don't. If you knew, nobody could annoy you for 30 minutes... OR maybe you are just seeking some attention? O.o

You can always submit a support ticket though, if you think the IFS wont catch him. But who would give you the attention you seek, if they all get banned? You have to chose between egrilling or wanting these people to be punished!

Your response to sexual harassment in video games should be the same response as to any other negative chatter. You mute, you report, and you move on.
