Completely Unwarranted Chat Restriction

I just received a 25 game chat restriction because I begged an AFK Caitlyn to leave the fountain and play out our game. We had a 10 kill lead, but had a 1/8 Renekton top. She said, "I don't want to win this game," and AFKd in fountain. I ask her to come out, over and over. The other team starts approaching our Nexus and we finally ace them, twice. She leaves the fountain and starts playing again... We won. All is well. At the end of the game, I report her for her negative attitude and 10 minute AFK. My client closes, I log back on and see that I have been rewarded with a 25 game chat restriction and she was not punished. Good Job RIOT.

If you can provide your chat logs we can possibly give you some insight into why your received punishment in this instance.

What did you expect would happen when you continued to tell Cait to leave the fountain when she clearly wanted to sabotage the team? Did you think she would go "Wow. You opened my eyes. I will now end my trolling ways and help you all the way to plat." or something like that?

Until there are chat logs we can't know how their conversation went, but if he was friendly about it I don't see any problem with begging someone to keep playing. When someone on my team gives up and wants to afk or troll I always try to motivate them again and again to atleast try one more time or play to a certain minute mark and often times they actually start playing then. Nothing wrong with trying to not 100% lose the game. And considering that cait started playing after they aced the enemy team she didn't wanted to sabotage but was simply tilted.
