Could a Rioter help me contact another player? I'd like to apologize for being a jerk to him.

Hey guys.

Basically in a ranked game last night, I said some stuff to a guy on my team that no one should say. I didn't agree with his decisions in the game but that still gives me no reason to say the things I said.

I was kind of expecting to log in today and see a chat restriction, but since I didn't get anything (it would have been my first offense, I'm never toxic) I feel like I need to contact the guy and apologize. I sent him a friend request in game, but he hasn't accepted yet.

I'm an extremely competitive person and even though I get carried away sometimes, I've never flamed someone the way I did this guy and I feel terrible about it.

I don't want to post his summoner name, but if there's a Rioter who would be able to help me contact him, I'd really like to say that I'm sorry.

This isn't a post of me trying to cover myself in the event of a chat restriction or anything, in fact, if I get one I deserve it. It's just me trying to be the person I should have been all along.

EDIT: I did some looking and I think I found them on Facebook. I sent them a message so hopefully they get back to me. I'll update when something happens.

EDIT 2: Got in contact with someone on their friends list and explained the situation. He's going to contact them and let them know what's up.

A lot of people have commented saying that they can't believe this is even happening. It was something I felt I needed to do and I'm glad I was able to contact him and I feel a lot better, and if you're not going to contribute or help out then why even comment?

TL;DR: said some really awful stuff to a teammate, felt bad about it and tried to contact them to apologize. Eventually found them and everything is okay.

Add him on your friend list, if he doesn't accept or has blocked him, you can't contact him, unless you can find him in some other sort of place. Don't think Riot would force an interaction between two people.

Seeing posts like this give me hope for this community. We've all been there and at one point or another said things we shouldn't have. It's commendable for you to want to step up and make things right.

If we had more people with your attitude in this game, it would be a much better place.

Try filing a support ticket. I don't know if Riot would forward it, but they might, and they would know what kind of privacy issues might be involved for something like that.

Boards are not the place for this. Riot Support should be able to help you with this as they're the ones that handle accounts.

You know, I actually hate how so many people on this thread are just being trolls or stating something obvious and nothing else relevant. You're trying to do a good thing, but other people are just defecates and don't think it's important or anything. Props to you for stepping up like this, though!

If you haven't played many games the player may still be viewable in the "recently played" tab underneath friends list.

If you are competitive then you showed him the person you were all along, everyone gets mad in sports, its called getting upset, League is no different, certain things shouldn't be said, it's true. And honestly for toxicity, less people would be toxic if half the players played competitively, there should be a system that asks you if you want to play for fun, or to win. If you click play to win, any amount of vulgar toxicity should be allowed, with the exceptions of "kill yourself" or "get cancer" stuff like that. If you click play for fun, and you still act toxic, this would help root out trolls, because a trolls aim is to get you mad, to get you mad they will intentional feed. Thus is a troll joins a play for fun match, riot will see them intentionally feeding to get players mad so those players get caught by the report system. If a troll joins a play to win match, the same will follow only the people who yell at the troll won't be banned. Also, I apologize for all my commas, idk where I picked up the habit of adding a ton of commas.

we can all get so caught up in the game that we aren't ourselves

if i ever did get an apology from a toxic player later on, like the next day, i would def accept it and add them to my friends list to see if they really are toxic or if it was just ones of those games

i've had an irl friend, good guy irl, on my friend list who was often toxic and never apologized. i confronted him and told him he should at the very least apologize, after he refused i removed him from my friends. 2 days later he adds me back, i ask if he will apologize, he says no, he is now removed and blocked. we are still friends irl but i refuse to play league with him and it honestly makes me sad that some people can't even, at the very least, say sorry
