This game is highly unreasonable and it needs to be addressed. The state of ranked at Silver elo:
I have noticed for a long time now that most people that play ranked matches do not take the game seriously at all. They learn new champions in ranked, they afk whenever they feel like it, they intentionally feed, they take a how to cs course in game, they do all kinds of things that are just not conducive to playing effectively.
So many people are more concerned about the messages that players type in chat and focus on that as the primary issue but clearly it is not. People talking trash and saying negative commentary in chat has never been the reason why a game was ruined. It is solely a player's physical behavior in the game that causes these games to be ruined. Words can tilt a player, but ultimately it is not the words that ruin his game, it is his own actions as a result of his incompetent emotions stemming from those words.
Almost every game, I see players making the same simple mistakes over and over and seemingly intentionally feeding the opposite team to the point that the enemy team's decisions no longer matter. After 10 or more deaths from each of the 4 other players on your team The enemy presence alone is enough to win every single engage with no contest, especially when your own team mates refuse to cooperate and independently run out into 1v3 or worse scenarios to die again and again every time they get up. This is basically the same thing as running it down mid all game long. There really is no difference. If you have 2 or more team mates eliciting this type of behavior, it makes it very difficult to find the right decisions to make to carry a game. Often the correct decisions would require the existence of conditions that simply are not possible given the mentioned circumstances.
It is extremely frustrating to be unwittingly condemned to being stuck in a game for 45 minutes or more where there is nothing you can do to have any influence once you are set so far behind by the incessant feeding of your team mates. Still, there is nothing you can do to have influence even before the point where the enemy takes a drastic lead as most if not all of your team mates will refuse to participate in your flanks, calls, stated observations, desperate attempts to keep them alive, etc... They will ignore calls, die for no reason every chance they get, ignore rotating to turn waves or even fail to defend towers at all, they will chase impossible fights while their inhibitors burn down, and more. They will seemingly do everything they can to intentionally lose the game and then blame each other. Most of these things I believe are simple, basic priorities that anyone would know if they merely took the time to watch a how-to video. Let's be real here.. These aren't advanced tactics. These are the basic, straightforward mechanics of the game. They are not very complicated concepts to grasp. I think that if players are unable to provide themselves with a basic understanding of the game, then they should not be permitted to play in ranked matches. They simply aren't ready for competitive play as is demonstrated by their behavior in game.
Riot will punish verbal abuse but refuses to punish physical gameplay abuse?... I have been chat restricted more times than I can count for doing nothing more than providing tactical advice, calling plays, telling people to stop making the game unplayable and responding to players who start in with me first. I am told that I should not respond to their comments so I am in the wrong for that reason. I disagree. And personally, your honor means nothing to me. I have real honor and the intelligence to distinguish the difference between a sad ploy to invoke cooperation and what it actually means to have honor. Riot's misuse of the word is unacceptable. They just didn't want to call it by its actual name because then everyone wouldn't be as excited to level their "Compliance" to level 5 for some ward skins, icons and emotes.
I often read that there will be games that you cannot do anything about and I understand if this were occurring every few games, then maybe it wouldn't be so hard to tolerate. That is not the case. This happens literally almost every single game. It is rare to find myself in a game where not every player on my team is a complete waste. I would say typically if at least one other player is semi competent and the other 3 don't choose to feed the whole time and manage to help rotate and turn waves then there is an actual opportunity to play a real game. I don't consider a game where conditions are out of my control to be a real game. To me, that is just a 40 minute remake with free LP lost and given away.
I hear so often that some of these games are still carriable by people who have yet to demonstrate their ability to carry anything. I see streamers post videos of games they say they carried but if you watch it, they get help from their team mates at every step of the way. Click bait garbage. I don't see 10+ deaths on each of their team mates at the end of the game. I don't see their teammates with 60 cs at the end of a 40 min game, low damage and half the gold. I don't see them having to literally go in alone and solo kill all 5 enemies (who often have cc) alone and then take the wave down mid, through enemy super minions to end while their whole team is on respawn cool down timers the whole time. Im not saying that the other team is usually ever any better. They aren't. But it doesn't matter how bad you are when you are spoon fed a full build at level 12. It is usually impossible to get most of these players in silver to even show up to the team fights or not go in too soon before everyone else has arrived. There is no coordination at all. People are completely unrealistic about their abilities. I can truthfully say that bronze games were much more manageable than silver games.
It is widely spoken that the game is in ruins right now because of this very reason. Many players have quit league for this reason. It is also widely spoken that only players who have created accounts in the first 3-4 seasons are able to climb back past high gold elo due to their having done their climb back when the game was less polluted with newer, unlearned players and trolls who afk or feed in games on purpose. I don't have any grounds for supporting either of these claims as I only began playing in late season 6, then I didn't play much in season 7, played a little bit in season 8, and have been playing again in season 9. I play on and off. If I get bored, I stop.
I want to hear what other people think about this. How is everyone else faring? Hope you're having better luck than I am, as luck is all this game really is. If you roll a bad team, its usually better to forfeit and take the loss as soon as possible than waste time trying to babysit and carry trolls who don't want to be carried. More efficient to end it sooner and try rolling a less useless team. Am I wrong? I actually want to be wrong but I don't believe I am.
