Is bug abuse bannable?

I friend of mine dicovered a somewhat game breaking bug that he is going to abuse. I told him he could probably get banned or get his season rewards taken away if he does, but he doesn't believe me. Can anyone confirm this for me? I would perfer answers from someone who knows rather than is assuming like myself.

I did recently read a post from a rioter stating that intentionally abusing bugs IS bannable. It is the same as cheating. If he knows it is a bug, then he can be banned. It was over a Sion bug that I saw it before.

It's called an "exploit". It is bannable in 99% of the games I played.

No one got banned from using the Hecarim double dash bug by smiting a minion he is charging at to reset the cooldown. No one got banned for walking through walls with Leona. As far as I know, people don't get banned for using bugs to their advantage as long as it isn't anything like the Xerath Q hitting everything in the game.

Back in the day, you could abuse bugs with 0 consequences, I mean pro players did it all the time and nothing happened, but now a days, it's prob bannable, but it's like the rule to cheating, It's not cheating unless you're caught red handed intentionally abusing it.
