Started putting Jungle secondary, I have now experienced the absolute worst of this game

I'm not sure if this is a vent, a take on the ranked experience, or what. What I do know is that in the attempt to climb back to Gold after earning it last season has given me first hand experience into the absolutely vile part of the community that is trying to climb the ranked ladder, and how the primary/secondary role system also seems to be working against me (quite a long one).

So it starts off with a thought, I'm not happy putting top secondary and getting it every single time I'm one game away from hitting promos. Twice I stomped my primary mid role, only to get top twice and watch my team and replacement midlaner get creamed while I watch from top lane and scream internally (and externally in cases) as I see my promo hopes shatter. It seemed I was getting top more and more often, which I wouldnt have such a problem with if the person who got mid instead didnt feed or do otherwise stupid things. I can play a good tank, but thats no good if the damage dealers...dont do damage.

So that leads to me thinking, my main role (mid) involves roaming to other lanes, and so does jungle. Tank junglers are back in, it so happens my favourite is Sejuani who is rarely picked or banned. Perfect, now I dont have to come down from top lane, I can influence the map everywhere.

Keep in mind, that I was only putting jungle secondary. I did not want to be playing the majority of my games in the position. I liked the strategic element of controlling pressure, objectives and the lanes, but at the end of the day I don't play "carry" junglers that you can properly climb with, I'm relying on my teammates to wait on my engages and follow when appropriate.

So good idea, right? Well, I don't know, because regardless what role I got, I have experienced some of the worst games I've ever had the misfortune of playing, and really, it makes me wonder why I play this game. Here's a list of my experiences:

1. I very rarely get mid. Its my primary, and over the last two days, Ive barely gotten it at all. I'm trying to climb, am I not allowed to have the majority of the games in the role I'm best at? My climb is being decided 70% of the time by my off role, this is just not good enough. I got to gold last season playing mid, not playing off role with some mid lane cameos for shits and giggles.

2. An absolute infestation of smurfs in low elo. You know the new feature that shows everyones levels in loading screen? Yeah, so the number of accounts that are in the 30-50 range is insane. Not all of them will be smurfs, but I've now had multiple games ruined by "teammates" who dont care about if they win or not, they only care about "punishing" a teammate for something moronic.

3. Lets talk about those low level players (who are most likely smurfs, which explains the following). They have without a doubt, been the most digusting, hateful wretches to infest my games. They will do whatever they want and they will spew absolute hatred on anyone doing any less than what they expect. They will insult you, they will demean you and there are so so many of them. All of the losses, all of the bad plays that they make, are all pinned on you, they fail to see the importance of mechanics such as "split pushing", "warding", "teamfighting", and so on. In my last game, I was told it was my job to die as the tank to save the carries, who were getting caught out in stupid places, I've been told that i "solo lost" when Ive dared to hit the inhibitor sitting right in front of me while the carries were chasing kills. I've been the one constantly pinged when I can't make miracles happen.

4. Some of the worst matchmaking I have seen. In another joyful game I played today, the top laner got 80 something farm in a 35 minute game. The enemy Olaf died twice pre-6 due to my ganks and his stupidity, but had more than double the farm at the end. Guess what, we lost. Although our mid assassin was doing well, it was up to me and the bot lane to hold us up in teamfights. The Jinx and Braum were competent and our early lead kept us ahead, but before long we lost as expected. The turning moment was when Cho'gath failed to ult Baron, while the enemy Nunu flashed in and stole it. And of course, the gold ol "I die when their jungler ganks, its your fault that you won't gank me. Useless jungler, better jungler wins, I fed but its not my fault, blah blah blah". This has happened an INSANE amount of times.

5. Despite all the cruel insults, I very rarely say anything. I don't know if I can trust the ban system, so I never risk it. But over the last week, I haven't got 1 notification that anyone I have reported has been banned or punished. And these include games with clear cases of hate speech, including references to cancer, homophobia, etc. You would have thought, at the very least, these people would be picked up on? Who knows, as far as I know I've been subject to bullying in game and Riot doesnt do ****.

Hopefully there's more than a few of you guys out there are fighting the fight that I am in their climb. Right now I am about 3/4 losses ahead of my wins, so judging from experience I should be due a winstreak that catapults me into promos...fianally. Thanks for reading my peeps.
