KYS is never an appropriate response

Hey Guys and Girls,

I just played a game with another player who was quite the experience. At 3 minutes in he/she died in bot lane in a 2v2 and asked for some help from my friend who was the jungler who responded "you just died in a 2v2, probably not the best idea" or something like that Generally people say something like "fuck you" or something lovely as a response, but this person decided to tell my buddy to go kill himself. After you say "KYS" or "get cancer", I am not a very nice person. I had cancer before and I'd rather not have it a second time though its sweet of you to offer. The friend I was duo queueing with has struggled with depression and has thought about killing himself. I play this game with him to escape his depression, not to encourage it.

If you would like to be a dick back after someone is a dick to you, thats fine. I support your 1st amendment right to say whatever you want. But if you tell my friend to get cancer or to kill himself, I'm not going to be very nice back. Admittedly, I could have handled the situation better, and if Riot goes through my chat history I am not a the perfect role model, but "Kill Yourself" should not be said, let alone a popular enough response to have an acronym for it. You just don't know what can trigger someone like that, so I'd recommend sticking with "Oh yeah? Well the jerk store called and they're running out of you." I spent 20 minutes talking down my best friend after that game from his fit of rage. I hope that one person who is checking to see the status of his/her ban reads this and realizes how messed up it is to tell someone playing an escapist game to kill themselves.

TL;DR: If you're going to be the all time best seller at the jerkstore, please be funny about it, there is nothing funny about suicide or cancer.

I disagree.

I understand that you guys both have a more personal take on this, but just mute them after they say anything toxic so as to not further offend you. If your friend does that and still goes into a suicidal spiral after one random person on the internet says something like that, he should probably go talk to someone about it, or must /muteall and the start of the game. It sucks that you have to take measures like this, but like monster said... people can say mostly whatever they want without repercussions.
