Honor and Reports

Hey, just a few questions:

  • Does being reported detract from your honor? (AKA Crest progression)
  • What is the minimum number of reports to be punished; do reports disappear over time?
  • Someone told me you had to be honored a certain % of your games in order to receive a crest. Does this mean if I've played 6,000 games it will be very difficult for me to get a crest compared to someone on a fresh account?
  • Non-bronze ranked players generally know their stuff, thus the chances for being honored for helpful are super low! Does this mean it's much harder for me to get a crest just because I'm a gold-level player; or do I need to play bots until I've gotten honored for helpful enough? [zombie-brand-mindblown]

IIRC getting the crest is about getting X number of honors in Y number of games (we don't have specifics on this), in order to keep your crest you need to keep getting honors, if you go Z number of games with little to no honors, you lose your crest. Fresh account or account since alpha have the same chance to get the honor crest. If you really want to honor grab, I'd suggest ARAM, people tend to honor more there.

False reports, no. Reports are verified by the system before any action is taken based on the reports, and false reports are thrown out.

The system looks more at frequency of reports than a specific number. So if you suddenly get reported in a large percentage of the games you're playing, you may find yourself under review by the system, and if appropriate, punished. Punishments will strip all honor you have on your account. Since it looks at frequency of reports, that means playing for a while without receiving valid reports will raise the standing of your account. Per the punishment system, after receiving a punishment, it takes 3 months without another punishment to drop down one punishment tier.

Similar to reports, this is based more on a percentage over a specific time period, not so much over the account's lifetime. So ribbons come from getting honor frequently, not just a raw large count of honor points.

Helpful is the most difficult to get, because people generally don't like to be helped. But if somebody is receptive, there's always valid information that you could pass to equal-skilled players (and probably even some insight a lower skilled player can give to higher skilled players).

Helpful doesn't necessarily mean giving advice right ? I mean, I could be helpful by say leashing or helping other lanes when able that sort of thing right? Am using broad strokes here but advice isn't the only helpful thing a player can do.

Things like leashing or helping out other lanes would typically fall more into the Teamwork category.

Thanks :) I believe I have honored people for the wrong thing lol
